I'm looking for some comments and criticism on a 1750 tournament list I'm working on. My base is a mobile ork list containing the following:
Warboss on Bike, all the usual toys
5 Biker Nobz with the boss, Waaagh banner and some power klaws
12 boys in trukk
12 boys in trukk
10 burnas in a battlewagon
10 Tankbustas in battlewagon
The only changes I might make to this would be to lose the tank bustas wagon possibly, and I would love to get some flashgitz and stormboyz in here but they are being held back to include the guard. Do I need to do this or can I achieve what Im looking for without the guard contingent?
With wargear this comes to 1300 points. I feel that even with the tankbustas I'm short on anti-tank and short on anti-flyer. So I thought of the following:
Primaris Psyker or Lord Commisar. The reason for the Primaris is purely fluff. I'm imagining him as being overcome with Waaagh energy.
Penal legion squad (outflanking scoring unit)
Vendetta (flying lascannons)
Manticore or Deathstrike.
Would this fill the holes in my list? I feel that the manticore is great at handling just about anything that I wouldn't want to just send the orks after. Is one vendetta enough to accomplish anything though or is it just a target?
I suppose my biggest question is in the interests of competitiveness, am I short changing both armies in order to mash them together? If I'm going to ally, I want to create a force greater than the sum of its parts.
Thoughts? Also, I have all of the ork models already, none of the guard to illustrate that I know I'm going to have to buy some more stuff.

For orks that's a mighty small army. I don't even understand where your point have gone. Are they spend on nob bikers and battlewagons?

Trukk boys in the current meta are going to get melted pretty quick, you will get out shot before you have a chance to do real damge with the squads, and nothing in the IG detachment gives you survivable troops.
Your going to need larger units of Guard or Boys to stay alive in the current meta.

Anyways, as for the list in sixth eddition with the FAQ the burnas are going to need a mekboy there with a big shoota rokkit or what ever you give aslong it got some range to it! The faq written today says you can't hurt what's beyond the template unless any weapon in the group got a further range... it's wicked how the rules are intended today.. either way i would go with more boys before toys, perhaps skip the tankbustas and their wagon for more trukk boys. Flash gitz are a big no for tournaments as they are waaaay to expensive for their cost. They are fun for friendly games but as i mentiond, a big no no for tournies. I would kinda say the same with the stormboys as you can max get 20 into a unit... god i would love 30.... they will get shot down with ease... just being normal boys :/ with jump packs.

Hmm ok. Yes, there's a lot of points going into the nob bikers (PK+Nob+Bike=90 pts) The Wagons are mostly barebones thought as I wanted to use them as a delivery system and not weapons platforms. On another forum I was recommended to drop the guard entirely and use straight orks. The thought there was that I can achieve the same things as the guard would be for without using a different codex. I want to agree but I feel that looted wagons or killcannons don't bring as much damage as a manticore, and can I achieve the same air superiority with dakkajets or rokkit-koptas as I could with 1 or 2 vendettas? I agree that I'd feel better with more bodies on the table however. Perhaps a big mob of 30 shootas on foot to follow the vehicles?

Having both foot sloggin and trukks will mess up your list its best to keep to one thing. mixes tend to go down the drain. (in my experience)
As for the looted wagon, for as little as 125 i think it was.. you can get a half trakk 12/12/10 tank without dont press that and a str 9 ap 3 large ordinance blast including 2 big shootas and armor plates.

Ok well taking all these into consideration leaves me with the following possible changes.
HQ: Warboss hangs out with nobs and kills stuff dead.
EL: Burnas 10+
Tankbustas 10+
Possibly lootas...I have a hard time taking anything that people consider "auto-include"
TR: 5+ Nobz in Battlewagon with Deffrolla, Painboy, Waaagh banner etc.

More Trukk Mobz??? More Orks is always betta, so some foot shootas maybe to camp home objectives or just go cheap with grots?

Soooo...battle plan reads like this- Wall of Battlewagon heads forward towards whatever needs deffrolla attention, Boss & Nobs can then assault whatever is there, while tankbustas pop armor and marines along with burnas. Trukks with warbiker coversaves come up the flank to THEORETICALLY hit from the side and deposit boyz on objectives. If I take boomwagon it will likely sit back with whatever holds the home turf and the possible lootas as I see them complimenting each other well. Rokkitkoptas of course will outflank and try to pop hard targets and MC's.

You need more Trukks than that, two will just get nuked very quickly.
Tankbustas are garbage, Flash Gits are Garbage, Stormboyz range from meh to garbage. That is the sad reality of the Ork codex.

Just take the Lootas man, Orks need any edge they can get right now and theres no need to shoot yourself in the foot! if your dead set against them though, Kannons are a good substitute.

Trukks: Ok, I suppose I was counting on the cover from the warbikes to mitigate that but that's probably a lot to expect from them. It's not like it's an expensive unit so I can likely do another trukk mob.
Tankbustas and Flash Gits: I wouldn't necessarily say garbage especially with some of the faqs to glory hogs and gitfindas...but lets settle on "less than top tier".
Lootas: Sigh...yeah I suppose I will.
