Thanks to Galactic Comics and Games store owner Kieth in Statesboro, GA, Forge World products are now acceptable around here. Before, there was a lot of distrust(?) of Forge World amongst the gaming group. When 6th came out, Keith took advantage of the shift in game to include Forge World models and rules in the tournaments hosted at his store. He said that it was totally unfair to have customers buy these products from the store and then not be able to field them in store events. It has been super fun and no one is looking back.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time. |

Cool, but somehow not really worthy of general discussion...
GWs in my area have always allowed FW.

You sound like they just advocated gay marriage or desegregation of schools in your town. Legalizing Forgeworld models in a store isn't exactly a civil rights milestone. I've always enjoyed Forgeworld models, and my gaming group loves em. You don't need to ask permission or whatever, just use your cool toys.

In Georgia it kinda is, FW was frowned upon as being OP and unfun to play against so many TOs wouldn't allow FW. That's changed lately and when you say you don't need permission I will say I have been turned just trying to proxy a FW unit to see if it was worthwhile before shelling out the money. Before you say I needed to field the model, guess what? I did get it and I have still been asked to not field FW items. There's been a huge shift in how people view FW now and I think things are better for it.

I am glad that you have always had the opportunity to find opponents that agree to your use of Forge World products, much less stores that allow it in tournaments. There are many players, probably not the majority, but many who do not get to enjoy the ease in which you indulge this aspect of the game. I am also glad that your gaming group has allowed for the option to enjoy the use of FW products. That is not true everywhere, and I read the laments on this website daily. This inconsistency creates a dichotomy in the discussion of the game in every category on this discussion board between those who can field FW models and those who can't. Please forgive me for showing my appreciation to the person who changed this in my neck of the woods and opened up the whole range of options for me and everybody else around here to enjoy. I didn't realize it was such a waste of server space.
Also, I do disagree in that you do have to have the permission of your opponent or the TO to field those models, otherwise you get to play by yourself.

Same attitude where I live. FW is banned from all local tournaments & some people won't even let you use a FW units as a substitute for a GW product. Example: Can not use Vulture for Vendetta. I honestly hope someday people in my local area just get over this toxic mindset.
