new blood here looking to joining into the bringing of madness and death to those unbelievers and the pure and in need of some general advice/tips on where to start.
Thus far I've got unassembled:
30 daemonites
10 Bloodletters
10 Seekers
3 Flamers
3 Blood Crushers
2 Seeker Chariots
1 Bloodthrone/skullcannon
Yes I'm aware there is no hq options in all that (for some odd reason my local GW store is shut on Mondays and Tuesdays!) However they are fairly simple choices; at present my main concern is assembling these models with the best foresight so that I don't end up cutting myself short, specifically with regard to the following:
Deamonites - I've seen people running multiple smaller groups with varying amounts of command up to single large bodies of them with a full command. So with 30 at present how many command options do I ideally want with that?
At present I'm thinking two groups of 15 with full command for both.
Bloodletters - I'm thinking full command for now and expand their numbers in time
Seekers - Unsure here if I want to treat them as a single unit of 10 and go for one command set; or treat them as two units of 5 and go for two command options in full or partial
Crushers - same as the Seekers
Chariots - From looking a the parts I think making a magnetic setup might be one of those "good idea but takes forever and is a nightmare" kind of scenarios. So I'm currently torn between going for two regular chariots or a single large exalted (from what I've gleaned the hellflyers are not all that widely used).
The Bloodthrone is becoming a SkullCannon for some ranged support
I'm also aiming to use some magnets in the bases so that I can use this force for 30K and Fantasy (prime aim at present is fantasy). So far it seems that only the Blood Crusher are presenting a problem as the others I can use one base ontop of the other with a small magnet as one base is small enough to fit upon the other. For troops I'm thinking round base and then some creative work with some formation movement trays for fantasy (this might save my sanity as opposed to working with dozens of magnets and bases). But Bloodcrushers have bases that don't fit well together, so it is a case that the best is to use small magnets in some of the hooves?
Looking forward to hearing your input and any advice you've got to give
As an additional question are there any models that would be best part assembled and painted and then fully assembled once painted - whilst I know in theory you can do this for any model are there any specific ones that benefit from this the most by giving access to otherwise very hard to reach areas on a fully assembled version?
