I asked this question mid wy through my other thread but it never caught traction, I really want to know peoples thoughts on Tzeentch DP Loadouts in regards to flying circus lists specifically to do with the gifts but also everything else.

Thanks

isnt the grimoire only 1 per army? Thats how I had mine minus the staff/grimoire and they just seem so damn expensive lol

Yes they are expensive but think about each thing individually.

Wings - of course necessary
Armor - A 3+ save vs most things is going to get you across the board.
Gifts - Greater gifts will give you good defense otherwise youll just die way too quickly and the points investment will be a waste.
Psychic powers- The more the merrier. Taking only 1 forces you to choose between shooting capabilities and a shot at biomancy. Taking 2 lets you do both. Taking 3 is even better. Telepathy also might be a better shooting option against some armies.
The staff - S8 and explosion isnt crazy good but hey if you have 10 points left over why not.

Im currently 80 points over actually and only have 2 troop choices lol i need to fix the list a bit.

Is the staff ap2 because its an MC attacking or does it use the AP 4 profile on the weapon? Looked it up, it is AP2!

You basically have a 40% chance per greater to get something decent, if you dont that is 40 points wasted and im just trying to get over this because as i said im 80 points over and the greater gifts seem like the easiest thing for me to cut.

Personally my princes never leave home without the 2 Greaters, but I run all Nurgle, and if one rolls poorly, I am always eager to take the Balesword (poisoned 4+, instant death).

As Tzeentch, its more dependent on what you'll have your princes doing. If your flying the while time casting powers and vector striking, you could surely drop the Greaters and take a lesser for the staff (s8 vector strike says hello!), and then shoot something to death with either Psychic Shriek, or Flickering Fire.

hey greg, thx for responding.

What benefit do you like from running your DP's as nurgle? I was planning on tzeentch so that I could pump out 3d6 shots per turn while I was working my way towards a favourable combat after softening up some units.

I have 2 lists that ive built I cant decide which one I want to use, which list do you think is better?

Edit: both lists now at the link with poll!

Gunna repsond to this first, then ill meander over to your army list

First off, I run Nurgle FMC mostly because I have always loved Nurgle, and already had 3k worth of his daemons....so I just added Fateweaver and I had a list lol.

Nurgle princess have some advantages, and some drawbacks. Biggest advantage is shrouded, so end you swoops in terrain for some great cover/dive saves. Biggest disadvantage, slow and purposeful, so no sweeping advances. You have to win a combat the old fashioned way (not that it's hard).

I am slowly adding daemons of other gods though, and my next addition will either be a custom Keeper of Secrets, or more likely, a Tzeentch prince, since I was amazed at the amount of killing Fatey was able to do in a recent game against Nids (at least till his head popped )
