What size base should my Broadsides be on?
40mm - that's the size Broadsides were when you built them!
40mm - that's the size the Crisis suits were supplied with!
60mm - that's the size broadsides are now, so your conversions need to be 60mm too!

So, I have a converted set of broadsides, using crisis suits, missile pods and a BUTT-TON of fusion blasters to make railguns (as they were when I constructed them)

Now that broadsides have heavy rail guns, and are mounted on a 60mm base, I wonder...

Am I obligated to move my converted Broadsides to 60mm bases? Is the fact that the Crisis suits were supplied with a 40mm base relevant? Does the fact that they were created brefore the 6th Ed. Tau codex mean they go on a smaller base?

Dakka, decide! Also, play nice, this is more of a discussion of player obligation than hardcore rues-lawyering... I hope

To be safe I would base them on 60MM bases.

Yeah, there is nothing that says that old models need to be changed to new bases, but if you're putting together conversions, it's generally going to cause fewer arguments if you base them as per the current model.

Although realistically, most people aren't going to care either way.

Insaniak has it dead on. Do what you want to do, but putting them on 60mm bases is the easiest way to avoid issues.

They've been supplied on both bases so go with whatever one suits the model better/you've already used.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

I must say I'd be in the camp of rebasing when possible if the bases change.
On the other hand if you had them converted when broadsides where on the smaller bases I wouldn't mind that much.
If you converted them after the new codex though , I'd find it more reasonnable to put them on the newest bases.

Id rebase if itd be fairly easy for you. Dont bother if its going to be a pain to do. But it would be better to have them on 60mm bases as they are now.

The problem is that it is a converted model. If was the Original Broadside, then keep them on their supplied base. But, as conversions I'd do my best to keep them on the current base for Broadsides.

Realistically I would never care in a friendly setting and probably wouldn't in a competitive setting either.

Just stick the 40mm base on top of the 60mm and build a small hill. It should additionally bring the height of the Crisis to around the height of a new Broadside.

You can use the base that the model was supplied with. I have 30 metal wraithguard that are still on their little 25mm slot bases they came with and don't really feel like paying a bunch just to put them on bigger bases and make them harder to transport.

That's fine as you're still using them as Wraithguard.
Personally I think as you're no longer using the Crisis as a Crisis, it should use the base size appropriate to the model it's representing.
