So Do thunderfire cannons follow the rules for multiple barrage, or do they roll for scatter for each shot like normal?

The TFC is not a barrage weapon.

Reports from those with the new book change this. So for the next couple of days, not barrage, just scatter all the shots and count your hits.
Come Saturday, it will probably be using the multiple barrage rules.

Obviously if/when the new codex makes it a barrage weapon it will fire using the rules for multi-shot barrage weapons as normal, unless it explicitly states that it uses different rules.

That is only the template flip thing, right?
Will it be good or a nerf?

It is indeed barrage now. Looking at it now, barrage on all 3 types of munitions and it doesn't say anything about how blast markers scatter
Been wondering the same thing and I can't figure out how to read the rule since all shots are comming from the same model and not different models in the same unit.
Edit: The brb barrage section is very clear on the subject after all.

Not sure what you mean by "template flip", but I think this is a good thing. Not having to have LoS and getting pinning on top of the multiple barrage rules is a bonus IMO. I'll have to see how it actually plays out though
With this change the TFC is almost an auto include in my lists/playstyle -- even more so than before.

I mean you only roll one scatter, then "flip" it so the edge of the new template touches the old one.
The nerf I mean is that if one absoutely misses, then the others wouldn't be able to hit abything.

That's not entirely how multiple barrage works.
First you roll scatter on the first shot. Then, you roll scatter for each subsequent shot. Each subsequent shot that scatters, you place the template at the edge of where the first one landed in the direction the arrow is pointing.
But yes, if the initial one scatters far enough, the rest have a good chance of missing too.

But then with the str6 shot you have the ability to snipe models like etherals, tzeentch heralds, slaanesh heralds, guard mutli wound characters etc, anything t3 can be gibbed by the barrge shot forcing all saves and LOS's on him.
Overall for 100pts its a darn bargin, even better then before imo.

Multiple Barrage is an 'all eggs in one basket' situation which makes it hard to say if it would be an improvement or not. If the initial shot is good and the unit targeted big enough then the 'flipping,' as someone on this site put it, is going to generate a lot more hits then normal scattering rules. However if the initial shot goes wide off, then you might easily end up with zero hits on the unit you where targeting. Hence it has a greater risk to reward balance then a weapon which fired multiple blast markers, making it possible of really devastating a unit with the increased possibility of missing entirely. Personally, I think the risk to reward factor is in favour of multiple barrages even before you consider the sniping angle, the ability to ignore line of sight ignoring and potential to by-pass cover saves that already make barrage better then blast.
