I still need to :
-clean up the horns, faceplate and gauntlets...
-add the keyring bit from the vampire counts coven throne necromancer...
-snow base it...

I am happy with the book of magnus, the cloak and the peering eyes.. what do you think?

Thanks for looking..

Looks good. How did you change the staff to a left-handed grip?

Delicate cutting to preserve the collar. I seperated the bolt pistol shoulder pad and cut it out so it could fit on a new arm like a normal sprue pauldron. It was a challenge but I think the new look is worth the hour plus worth of cutting. The hand is from the DV librarian and the plastic pauldron is from
the DV power axe Chosen.

The conversion work is excellent. The painting looks pretty thick and glossy though...at the very least I would add a wash, but I think you might be better off stripping it and starting over with thinner paints because you're losing detail on the model right now due to the thickness of the paint

I'd echo the point about thinning the paints, although as you've done a really nice job so far it'd be a shame to strip it. I would recommend a coat of matte varnish though, to take away the gloss.

Thank you gentlemen. I do need to thin my paints. I admit that I rush my minis to completion. I will slow down!

This is one situation where finecast definitely trumps metal. Having easily convertible versions of GWs entire catalogue was probably one of the selling points originally.

It's an excellent conversion that only adds to the model, but yeah thinning your paints would help a lot. I can see some decent highlighting, but the shininess of the model makes that difficult to tell. You aren't using enamel paints I hope? Either switch over to acrylic ASAP or get a can of matte spray to bring down the shine (and help protect the model).
