I know that playing with a special character from Forgeworld may not be the best way to start learning how to play, and I know that I have atempted to make some lists in the past which you all have been gracious to help with, but I am struggling to find a good balance in a 1000 point list. I plan on running with the Carcharodon marines with Tyberos the Red Wake as my HQ choice. He allows one squad of Assault terminators with lightning claws to count as a troops choice. He also allows any bolter armed space marine to swap his bolter out for a chainsword. So with the list I have pieced together, I am trying to make it based on the lore of the chapter, but still keep it semi-competetive. In short, I want to have fun playing, but would like to win once in awhile or at least make it close.

The idea is that I would run the chaplain with my tactical squad, Tyberos with the terminator squad, and post my devatstators in ruins or on the high ground and attempt to soften up targets for my assault based army. One major question I have is should I swap out the ironclad, even though I love the model, and replace him with a Storm Talon for air support? I don't think I will run into too many flyers at a 1000 points, and I love the idea of a full out assault wave with only a few missile launchers covering my foot slogging army. Any thoughts, tips, advice, or telling me this idea is completely rubbish would be greatly appreciated. I will also be looking at ways to expand into 1500 points over the next couple of months so any suggestions in that realm would be great too. Thank you in advance!

I guess the list is pretty good then. In that case I will order the models I need. But if anyone has ideas on how to expand, I would be much obliged.
