Hello. Can I ask you guys- what's the best and most effective way off getting rid of old paint from a model, which uses simple ingredients and isn't too costly.
Thanks.

Try the search function. This comes up about once a week. That said, i use Simple Green and it works quite well.

fairy power spray + toothbrush (old / un wanted one)
Spray model liberally in power spray, leave to stand for 15 minutes, scrub with toothbrush and rinse with warm water.
repeat if necessary.
Safe for plastics and metals, I've not tried it on finecast or forgeworld resin yet so can't comment there.
Used to use dettol, takes too long, stinks too much.
Power spray is the winner hands down.

I've actually never heard of the simple green option. I used to use simple green when cleaning out my engine bay. Gotta try that one. I've got tons of metal blister Catachan that need repainting and could use a good stripping.

In the USA, 'Dawn Power Cleaner' is basically the same thing as Fairy Power Spray here in the UK, Its sold here as a cleaner / degreaser for stubborn cooking trays, glass dishes, the oven itself etc. Is in the kitchen cleaning isle.
