Well, I picked up this beautiful sex god of a codex today and after 3 hours of jaw-gaping nerdgasms I got my act together. That's when I decided to open up the book and move out of the way of the cash register aisle. Ok, hawk lords, that one chapter... the purple one... yeah... them.
Ok, hopefully this list of 1500 points of Pod Alpha Strike will be enough to beatstick-smackdown the next nine year that walks through the doors of my local GW. I want a drop pod list that will make theirs eyes bleed white blood cells. I want their very souls to cringe. And I want to smack the Tau-Taudar-Eldau into the very ground.

I'll tell you what i just had a game against chaos I thought i was doomed 2 of his champs turned into DP before the game even started no including his HQ DP but I had 2 drop pods with 8 stern each with 7 combi meltas that was kinda overkill they were both dead in the first turn, then I hellfire rounded 2 CSM squads to death all im saying is sternguard use them.

I've never used Sternguard but I think that they have always looked cool and the new kits made then look very nice.

Grav weapons are not great in drop pods due to salvo. They are best on relentless or static units. Plasma does the same job better on units in drop pods.

Drop pod Dreads were awesome and the Ironclad is the best one. But 6th hurt dreads bad. But used in pairs those Ironclads should do well enough.

I'd drop the scouts probably entirely but at most down to 5 men. Doing the later nets you another 65 points. Giving you 204 to spend. Get 2 Stalkers and you have 54 points for upgrades. Get the scouts sniper rifles that leaves 50. 2 Heavy flamers on the Sternguard and 3 more combis. My advice is 4 plasma and 3 melta as the combis on the Sternguard.

Looks pretty solid. 3 DPs in the face turn 1 plus Scouts Quad gun and 2 Stalkers pumping out shots (remember the Stalkers are full BS against skimmers too). 2 Ironclads wrecking face that Sternguard squad should kill whatever unit you point it at.

Looks like you've got it all covered for tau and eldar

But if you play imperial guard infantry heavy its gonna smack your face or anything that has a lot of interceptor (other space marines)

Space Marines have a lot of interceptor? Guard? He's dropping 4 Heavy flamers plus a load of ignored cover boltguns.

I'd say Tau were the worst army for this to face. That is always going to be the case with a DP list though.
