Hello Dakka Dakka!
I'm a College student, who as a kid, used to play 40k with friends in our parents garage. Upon arriving at my university I made a friend who, with aid from my brother, got me back into it. Now it seems I've become caught the fever that is conversion/scratch building. I really get a kick out of trying to scratch build my stuff. recently I tried my hand, for the first time, on building a Rhino. I haven't finished it, but its coming along (pics are in my gallery, not sure if i should link them). I think if i get this down, and build several more, I'll work my way up to a Land Raider/Stormraven. Its fun, challenging, requires a lot of time, and its much cheaper-- cheap is critical in my life.
Some basic info: I play space marines, a home brew chapter that i call "The Sons of War" (cliche? yep). My friend plays tau, brother plays BA. Right now i think I'm going to use the Imperial Fists special rules for my army, because the Ultramarine ones really let me down. I think my first battle since 4th ed is going to be in a week, against the heretical Tau, and I'm pretty excited to see my marines in action.
