Hey everyone, just wanted to clear something up about the Salamanders Chapter Tacti:

-It says that I get re-rolls to wound and for armor pen with flamer weapons, this does not include Melta Weapons correct?

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.

No. It specifically says flamer weapons as defined in the 40k rule book. This rule is found in BRB pg. 56 under Flamer Weapons. Meltas are not listed there.

On a side note, before you cream yourself over flamestorm cannons like I did briefly, tanks don't have Combat Tactics.

If you want the twin-linked meltas, you have to take Vulkan. Essentially, the Salamanders took the heart of 5th edition's Chapter Tactics and broke it in half like a BFF necklace. Tu'shan got one half, and Vulkan got the other. The two put together give you the same bennies as the last edition, more or less.

Except now all your sergeants can have mastercrafted weapons, regardless of type, and not just thunderhammers. (So the TH/SS termies got a little less awesome.) The only thing that really got dinged was vehicles with flame weapons, which no longer get buffed.

What flame weapons on vehicles? Flamestorm never got to use it before. It's the same.

Drednoughts also do not have the "Chapter Tactics" Special Rule. Not even Brayarth Ashmantle (the Salamander Drednought HQ).
No more drop podding in and torching entire units with assurance of wounding everything.
At least Vulkans rules state MODELS (with no specification for "Chapter tactics)...so Vehicle borne Meltas should still get the twin link.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?
