Was thinking of sticking the unit up on a Landing pad with a squad of Flak equipped normal Devs, and maybe a Riptide so the support commander could go where he is needed the most.

The Centurians would get 3 TL Lascannon and Krak Missiles shots that have Tank Hunter, Monster Hunter, and Ignore Cover. It also adds another 6 wounds as I would take the commander's drones and also take the Iridium armour to get him up to T5 2+.

It would be an expensive unit but with 12 wounds 2+ 4+ and with that kind of firepower, I think its worth it.

You can already get tank hunter on centurions with the IF CT.

Yes but by attaching the commander you also get monster hunter, ignores cover and rerolls with your missile launchers.

I think this more than doubles the effectiveness of the Centurions as well as making them more durable with the added wounds.

Why not take someone other than IH then, as they can get the tank hunters from the buffmander.

Or even put the buffmander with some crisis suits w/marker drones, missile pods, and target locks, with some IH lasturions standing next to them as your heavy anti-tank. And if you're in double-FOC territory, have him man the quadgun of an aegis placed under the landing pad, so that he can't be barrage-sniped, with the 'turions up top for LoS and the suits hopping up to fire each turn.

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

Yeah, I would use a different chapter tactics. Ravenguard can scout forward so you're in range Turn 1 (or is that White Scars?), Iron hands can give you FNP, etc.

Bulky/Very Bulky models can't use the Scout Move from Raven Guard, so Termies/Centurions are excluded.

Well then. I'd go with Iron Hands for FNP or White Scars for awesome bikes. The centurions with a Tau commander don't really need the chapter tactics.
