Since the Codex dropped I see a lot of posts about the White Scars (understandably, as their CT is probably the most competitive one) and the Iron Hands, but so far not much on the Sons of Dorn. As I've been playing IF since I started, so I feel loathe to even consider using another CT. So, what can we do to make a list that takes advantage of what we got?
Bolter Drill :
Not a bad ability, but certainly not a game changer. The biggest winners with this one seem to be the Tactical Marines. An 11% increase in accuracy is nothing to sneeze at and now that there are no free heavies I could conceive of keeping the squad light. 10 guys with boltguns who re-roll ones for 140 pts isn't bad. Throw in a special weapon and/or a combi-weapon on the sarge for some utility. Put them in a drop pod or rhino that also gets to re-roll ones with its storm bolter.
Bolter scouts might be a decent option now, especially with the LSS being a DT. Its weapon is a HB, so more re-rolls. Not a bad scoring unit for a mere 100 pts. BS 3 is the downside though, as the increase in accuracy drops to just over 8%.
HB Devs benefit too and they can be quite useful if you know you 'll be facing hordes.
Unfortunately, that's pretty much it. Nobody takes termies for their storm bolters, sterns aren't eligible and most other bolters are twin-linked already. Or pîstols.
Siege Masters
Nice, but rather limiting. Only affects two HS options. Devastators are priced reasonably now at least. LC Devs will be awesome with Tank Hunters and it might make Flakk ML Devs playable (but probably not) despite their prohibitive cost. Get them a DA libby with a PFG if you got the points for it and they might even survive the inevitable Heldrakes. A Quad Gun with Tank Hunters could be nasty and can be supported by some Flakk ML Devs. PC devs will also be a strong choice. Heck, even HB devs might be used to reliably take down rhinos and DE tanks with this.
The LC/ML Cents are the ones who benefit the most of the possible Cent builds, as grav-amps already give a re-roll. The DakkaCents benefit like the HB Devs do.
Lysander
Our only SC (unless you want to use Pedro as Pugh). Only useful in melee now, so how do you get him there?
Footslogging: The problem is that being in termie armor is would be easy to avoid and would take too long to get there. He can soak but does not buff shooting anymore and still has no gun. Terrible option.
LR: provides a much needed mobility boost. You'll want to put him with some backup, like TH/SS termies or a command squad, but that way takes a precious HS slot.
DSing: gets you there faster and costs less than a LR. Stick him with some termies or in a drop pod with a command squad. Feel no pain, DSing turn one and some geared support makes this a good choice imho and this is how I intend to run him. His point cost means he'll probably remain on the shelf most of the time though.
P(ugh)edro
The good: scoring sterguard, +1A bubble, stats got better, gives access to HG.
The bad: sternguards don't get the Bolter Drill bonus, no EW, point cost went up.
Still a good choice for a pod list. Stick him in a drop pod with an HG and send him in with two supporting squads of Sternguards in pods. Two tac squads in pods. Dev squads are good now and will help round out your pod numbers.
That's about all I've come up with so far. What do you guys think?

The changes to Orbital Bombardment also help Pedro, no longer does he need to stand still for a turn for him to use it.
Also, the Sotrm Bolter on the Drop Pod wouldnt be twin linked since the Chapter Tactics dont effect the vehicles.

What about putting Lysander, by himself, in a storm raven?
With EW, he isn't bothered by the Str10 hit if the ride crashes. It's an assault vehicle.

Aren't Land raiders dedicated transports for terminator squads anymore? It would mean that you don't lose one of your HS slots if you take a TH/SS squad, it gets quite expensive but 5 termies and Lysander hit like a ton of bricksa

I am honestly looking into dropping most of the combi weapons from my sternguard and running them as dedicated anti-infantry. Just buy them 2 of the regular special weapons and call it a day

Another bad thing about Pedro... 3+ Save.
It's better to make a CM as there are better options.

Your not taking pedro for his stat line, you are taking him to make sternguard troops(and maybe for the +1 attack, seriously pedro with honor guard is some scary sounding gak)
He is actually WAY better now with +1 atk and wound base

True... but in a challenge he's going to get murdered.
Oh wait... HG Champ will answer the call.
