1. Are units in the farsight enclave allowed to take copies of the same signature system?

In this case i'm referring to having Shas'vre O'vesa (the riptide independent character from The Eight) whom has earth caste pilot array in his profile, and then having second elite choice rpitide with earth caste pilot array aswell.

Is that legal? The Eight says you ignore the signature system rule previously stated but to my interpretation it is only addressing the limitation of having signature systems from the Tau Empire codex on some of the characters from The Eight. So does this also imply that ALL signature systems by The Eight are 'extra' and you can essentially have your normal unit bearing them aswell?

Yes. The signatures taken by the 8 don't count toward the 1-per-army rule of normal signature systems.

This is correct as they also break the Farsight 'no Tau signature systems' bit if I remember right. Basically the 8's equipment has no detrimental impact on what you pick.

Currently, RAW it does not allow you to take multiples even if they are on some of the Farsight Commander Team. It states the Signatures system's rule "left", which is not the section that contains the restriction on One per army, that is on pg 90(I believe).

So, RAW you cannot take multiples, even if they are on one of the "Eight".

But, there is an RAI argument to make as the "left" hyperlinks to the page with the restriction. Unfortunately there is no precedent for using the hyper link inside of a digital codex in a rules dispute like this especially when it contradicts the RAW. For now, you are limited to one.

And I so wanted to take O'Vesa and an HBC ECPA Riptide, but until FAQed otherwise I believe it is illegal.

So one against and many for, though i am inclined to agree with Zagman, i will go on the assumption that the intended purpose indicating 'left' is to include the signature system rule as an override in its' entirety and will thus field two until this is announced otherwise.

Read as written the excluded rule does not include the One per army restriction, that comes later. The Ibook reads RAW as only one Signature System per army including the Earth Caste Pilot Array.

I will agree that it needs to be FAQed, but in an instance like this it is usually best to not play the more advantageous interpretation lest others cry cheese for good reason.

Also, any tournament winning list I have seen which includes O'Vesa did not have multiple of any Signature System. That should set a trend.
