Hello, I'm trying to come up with a semi-competitive army that can throw a curved ball to an opponenet but one I can also lean on when I meet TFG with a power list...
Here goes...

CSM Lord
Mark of Nurgle, Bike, Power Weapon, Combi-Flamer

4 Bikes
Combi Plasma
Plasmagun
Meltagun

Heldrake
Baleflamer

10 CSM
Champion - Power Mace
Swap bolters for pistols
2 Flamers
Rhino

5 Plague Marines
2 Plasmaguns

10 Cultists
2 Rifles
Flamer

ADL + Quad Gun

5 Havocs
2 Lascannon
2 Missile Launchers
Rhino (Given to Cultists or Plagues)

Helbrute
TL Lascannon

Maulerfiend

Maulerfiend

Plan A is:
I have bikes, CSM in Rhino, Cultist or Plagues in rhino, and two maulerfiends as my quick attack force.

The Helbrute, plagues or cultists and havocs set out a fire base using the ADL and any nearby building. Helbrute and plagues giving combat support if I'm facing deep strikers, out flankers and so on.

Heldrake hopefully hits home on the same turn that my assault would arrrive.

There are a handful of points spare to put a flamer on the helbrute, twiddle with the havoc load out (less rather than more), buff the lord, that sort of thing.

Plan B: Castle up using the ADL and throw as much melee stuff into resereve until the wave of emeny troops crashes onto the ADL.

It looks great with some great daemon engine silhuettes on the table. Dunno how it will perform, but seems alright on paper.

With love from Denmark

Hey man.

The only thing I would change in this list would be to give the bikers melta. They are so cheap (compared to last Codex) so it's silly to not let them speed around and pop tanks. Leave the plasma for the plague marines, who can obviously double up on it and defend themselves from DSing termies and stuff.

Mayyyyyybe I'd put VotLW on the chaos lord.

Good luck : ] The walkers look great at 1500.

CSM come with pistols already so I'm assuming that you meant swap bolters for close combat weapons. Decent if you're going to have these guys rush off to get into close combat, but just keep in mind the earliest you're going to be able to do that is going to be Turn 3. Turn 1 = rushing up in rhino as far as possible. Turn 2 = getting out of Rhino and flaming. Turn 3 = assaulting. If that's not soon enough for you, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Maybe another small unit of Plague Marines because they can just dish out a lot of attacks.

Just an FYI, if you want to have the Plauge Marines use the transport at the beginning of the game it would be better to just give them the Rhino and not the Havocs.

On page 78, Dedicated Transports, paragraph 2 "The only limitation of a Dedicated Transport is that when it is deployed, it can only carry the unit it was selected with (plus any IC's that have joined it). After the game begins, it can then Transport any friendly Infantry unit, subject to Transport Capacity and other special exclusions, as explained in the vehicle's entry".

Unless of course you normally want your Havocs in the Rhino at the beginning of the game, but I really don't see any advantage of that. You want them out, set up, and shooting at full BS Turn 1 with all of their special weapons.

My only advice for your list is that if you really want it to have more walkers due to your theme, maybe get rid of the Nurgle Bikes? Right now you only have 5 bikes total with the Lord which isn't a lot. Sure, they're T6 which helps a bit, but even so if your opponent concentrates on them at all they'll be dead. I'd either drop the Hellbrute and add more bikes or drop the bikes and add in more walkers for some craziness. The more competitive option though is to get more bikes since they're a FA choice, can deny objectives, and in some scenarios capture objectives.

BlacKnight,
Good points about the rhino, I usually give it to the cultists to hide in until later in the game. FIrst time I have considered plague marines so I will punt it across to them on the list.
The bikes at the moment are not MoN, could not find the points, but I will try to squeeze some more into the unit.
