Hey guys, I've been playing Dark Angels for a good while but with the gorgeous new Marine dex out, I've decided to start a Black Templar army as the idea of an Ork WAAAGH! in power armour is just too brilliant to pass up. Anyway, I'm going to be buying *roughly* 1500pts worth of models to get me started in a couple of days and I was wondering what people thought of the list I've roughly sketched out. I'm not a super-competitive player and I play for fun but I don't wanna be stuck with an absolute turkey of an army.

EDIT: My general plan with this list is use the shooty crusader squad and Centurions to provide a solid firing base to take out hordes and power armour (the Centurions wll also use their grav weapons to take out any monstrous creatures). My Sternguard use the Rhino to get close to any high-value tanks and pop them with the combi-meltas then use the Rhino as a shield while they fire at elite squads and units in cover. My Assault squad will use their greater mobility and masses of attacks to devastate the enemy flanks while my choppy crusader squad charges up the centre, hopefully getting the Emperor's Champion into a challenge with the enemy warlord where he can use his AP2, hitting at initiative skillz to gain an easy victory point. I'm kind of going for massed CC attacks and solid fire support as my overall strategy.

Brother Karl, The Emperor's Champion

Crusader Squad - 9 Initiates, bolt pistols, chainswords, flamer. 1 Sword Brother, Bolt pistol and power axe. 5 Neophytes, CC Weapons and bolt pistols

Crusader Squad - 9 Initiates, bolters, graviton gun, heavy bolter. Sword brother with power axe and bolt pistol.

Assault Squad - 9 marines with pistols and chainswords, 2 flamers and a Sarge with power axe, melta bomb and bolt pistol

Sternguard - 10 Sword Brethren with 2 combi-meltas, 2 combi-flamers, a heavy flamer and bolters. Sarge has a power sword. Rhino as dedicated transport.

Devastator Centurion Squad - I'm magnetising the weapons on these but usually I'll run grav cannons with grav amps and omniscope as I mainly game against CSM players.

So yeah, there it is! At some point in the coming months I'll be picking up a Land Raider Crusader and Helbrecht or Grimaldus too. Feedback appreciated
