Why does Lysander have 3 invul saves? SS, IH, and Terminator armor. I understand SS and Terminator, but why give him an Iron Halo as well? Maybe for shield breaker rounds from the GK assassin. I think it's cool to have this wargear, and makes for an awesome model, but why in game terms?

He's a captain. Captains have Iron Halos.

Unless the faq says differently (didn't check) vindicare would strip all 3 in one shot. So still pointless.
Its really just a fluff thing. Termies can have SS which takes precedence over armor. Captains have iron halos even though it's Weaker then SS

Fluff thing. And in the event that something does eventually exist that breaks only 1 thing of wargear. or multiple saves become allowed

Good catch. I didn't realize that. Just confirmed it, and checked the FAQ to be sure.
As to why - He's a captain. All captains get an Iron Halo. All terminator armor comes with a free Invuln save. And he just so happens to have a Storm Shield. Just coincidental, really.

Terminator armour always come with a 5++
Iron Halo is standard wargear for Captains.
And the Shield is what he really plays.
