Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios
I believe that somewhere it says that grenades can never be master crafted but my rulebook-fu is failing me today.
Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines
Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
orbital bombardment is a special rule and not wargear so it really is another discussion.
As for grenades, I would'nt count them as weapons if I were you. While they have weapon profiles and are listed in the weapons chapter of the BRB your codex does not classify them as a weapon. When you look in your armory you will notice melta bombs and grenades are all listed in the special issue wargear section of the book, so are special ammo types. Since its not really made clear with RAW I have to go with RAI on this and based on the armory I'd have to say they are not weapons (this conveniently also answers the OB question as well so bonus)
But really its a discusion for your gaming group or TO.
