I'm trying to make a custom made Aegis Defense Line for my ork army as buying one would be both expensive, and not blend with the ork aesthetic. I made a template that I BELIEVE is the accurate size of the model, but as I don't have one or know anyone who does, I could use some help judging if the piece I've made thus far is the right size.
In a nut-shell, would you have any issues with an ork player using a piece like this as a Count-As Aegis Defense Line?

"Just the act of orks looting it defiles it! There are Techpriests rolling over in their graves!" "Yeah! I'm rolling over them in their graves!"
"The usage of shipping containers is much like 40k technology: It's been handed down from tech-priest to tech priest, until none of us really remember how it works and we go through many pointless rituals in the belief that it will keep it alive. " - Dayspring

That answers one question but not the other...

I use GW's "Ork Barricade" set for my Aegis. Same overall length as the standard model.
Less flexible without the small sections, and harder to hide bigger things, so a slight disadvantage over the standard.
To date no one has objected to it's use.

You should ask your local play group or TO if your into that kinda thing.
But generally speaking most people wont have a problem as long as it is painted, and is the same size as the original thing.

For me as it stands it seems off. (too tall) maybe its just the picture

Do you feel you're MFA? It's that little tweak as we scratch build something, saying "haha". If you can avoid that you're good.

Or. Make it a bit smaller then the normal one, that way you're opponents won't care.

Vanished Completely

Even smaller then normal causes a few problems, primary among them is the fact it makes it a lot easier to put a larger group behind them with no penalty. Aegis defense lines work both way, if the enemy is obscured 25% by them then they too get the cover save, but a smaller Aegis line would allow you to 'see over the top' of it a lot easier. This would mean you can place more units behind it and still have a clear view of the enemy, or even position your unit back a little further then you normally would which could remove you from the enemies range while still allowing you a clear line of view to fire back with longer ranged weapons.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.
