Hi guys - entering the Battle Brothers doubles tournament at Warhammer World in December and I have never taken part in a tournament before.

Does anyone have any constructive suggestions to the list we are thinking of using please? I am also interested in any known very powerful Eldar and Dark Eldar combos I may not be aware of that synergise well together :

Apologies but I cant remember the exact points for the Dark Eldar stuff but I'm sure it is more or less right :

I like you should have most lists covered. I think MC lists will hope not to face you. Your biggest leap will be drop pod lists.

As for the Crimsion Hunter I'm having a problem deciding if its worth it. So far it has never lasted past turn 3, however its one of the only things Eldar have (with full BS) to counter helldrakes. the Warp Spiders maybe a better way to go.

The eldar section looks good, I would take the crimson hunter for AA and just hope you can keep it in reserve. If your really worried, try to get scriers gaze for your farseer to help keep it hidden till enemy air shows up. Once the AA is gone, have it come in and trash any tanks you see. However, warp spiders and war walkers are both great.

An archon with haywire grenades is a bit of a waste of the archon. At that point, might as well take a succbus. I would opt for a hamey with a liquifier gun and venom blade to hand out FNP.

9 Trueborn is excessive, as 9 kabbies do the job just as well if you want splinter dakka. Give the raider racks, and make the trueborn 3 strong with blasters in the venom. This saves points and does not fundementally change your list, but makes it much better. A hamey here for FNP and some CC defense is nice, and the succbus can also help, but I would go for hamey.

Every DE tank needs night shields to help negate ranged fire. Maybe flickerfields if you can afford them.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I'm Mike's gaming partner for the tournament and have made a couple of alterations to the Dark Eldar side. I think the Eldar part is pretty solid and wanted opinions on the changed DE bit and/or the list as a whole. Anybody who uses Eldar/Dark Eldar together regular please shout out.

Amended bits in green, Added the Jetbikes as an extra late scoring unit/annoyance/linebreaker. Added the Baron for his go first buff but I would be unsure as where to use him. Atm he'd have to be on his own, his +1 go first could be vital though to help with our AA and Jink on all our skimmers though so I consider him worth it. He's not the Warlord so doesn't offer up a point if he dies.

My main concern is only 23 scoring models, and all are relatively easily to kill (dependent on the WS survival)

Other choices I think are worth considering are Warp Spiders, War Walkers or a Beastpack to accompany the Baron. Thoughts?

Mike and I will be playtesting possible lists and ideas all the way up to the tournament so any and all input would be appreciated.

You could deploy Baron with the jetbikes, which would give them a buff on their jink if they move, also hiding him in a fast, higher toughness squad.

Good point, they could always leave him later in the game if needed as they can move considerably quicker. The +1 cover he would grant them is nice and whilst he is mainly in there for the +1 go first we might as well get every bit
of use out of him as we can. I had considered dropping something to put in a unit of 5 Warp Spiders for him to go with but there movement rules and Battle Focus means he wouldn't really fit. Hellions would be Troops with him in the list but I don't really find them very effective at all.

The trouble is the baron is jump infantry I think so only moves 6" in the movement and cant turbo boost. Would stop the bikes moving fast, although for the first few turns may not be a problem

Actually jump infantry move, like bikes, up to 12" in the movement phase, ignoring terrain. You are right, however, that he can't turbo boost.

However however......turbo boosting is a per model bases. So while he can't turbo boost, the rest of the unit can as long as they maintain unit coherency. You may not be covering as mutch distance, but at least they can troll in front with the bonus cover save.

I took this to throne of skulls and won 5 out of 5 games, including against 9 pods, MC Nids (good matchup for you), Eldar, and 2 x Grey knights with Dakka Dreads/Psybacks. I tabled all 5 opponents. The baron (as mentioned earlier here) is great with a unit of jetbikes. I used him with the Shining spears to increase their Jink, and allowed them to follow up as a counter attacking unit.

The Guardians have the neat Ap2 potential for when your splinter weapons just don't cut it. The Void Raven is essentially a straight swap for the Crimson hunter.

Your list has the added nastiness though of the wave serpents, which is a huge plus.

Thats useful thanks to see your list. Do you find having both fields on all the venoms is worth it? I am suprised that the 6" range reduction and 5+ invulnerable save are worth the points when you already have jink free? I am no expert on Dark Eldar I realise.

I like the list though, very fast

The Flickerfields are actually free on the venoms! The nightshields are 10 points - definately worth it, especially if the number of venoms you are running is low. Nightshields give you ane edge over Psycannons and pulse rifles - 2 weapons which spell huge danger for AV10.

Remember as well a lot of things ignore cover (serpent shields), so your jink would be negated.
