I've always been a fan of allies ever since I first heard about it in Apocalypse. From a modeling standpoint it gives plenty of opportunity for "counts as" and now that it's apart of the main game I'm sure this is something more people are doing.

So what I'm interested in is seeing or hearing about any "counts as" conversions to represent characters/units from an allied detachment. For instance I'm working on 2 conversions to represent apart of a Space Wolf detachment in a Blood Angels army.

One is a Wolf Lord with jump pack, frost axe and SOM. I'll post pictures as soon as I can but the model is going to be a Blood Angels captain with a berserker chain axe wixed with a empire halberd, a Black Company jump pack long flowing hair and his torso/legs will be from the new Vanguard sprue with a cape from the chaos lord on manticore. I'm also planning a Black Company "Blood Knight" which is going to be a Lone Wolf in terminator armor with a th/ss combo.

So has anyone created "counts as" models to represent allied units/chatacters in their main force?

In my gallery pictures I've posted a pair of pictures of my imperial guard sergeant, i'll probably use him as bastonne or something. But my imperial guard are overall steampunk themed with bretonnian kettlehats and stuff, I've got LOADS more guardsmen I've made, but i unfortunately have only posted the two in my gallery, feel free to take a look

What are they representing in terms of being an allied "counts as" model?

At the moment, just imperial guard, but the rest of my models are fairly converted and don't bear any resemblance

So are they just your version of an IG character in a IG army or are they representing a IG character in a Space Marine army?

I've been planning to convert some guardsmen to represent space marine allies.
