Just curious if Heninrich Kemmler is worth the points?

thinking of heavy skelton horde army with krell aswel which he would seem to fit in nicely but is he worth the difference from a master necromancer?

Since no one answered, I'll give you the power of my non-knowledge.

I think he's overpriced. His fluff is cool. There are a number of viable caster-fighters. Like vampires and daemon princes and greater daemons and slaughtermasters. But Heinrich isn't one of them. He's still a wuss.

He has Loremaster and Ethereal/Flight. That's what you're paying for IMHO. And you pay about 150 over a buffed normal Necromancer for it. It's good, but not as good as probably just a normal ward and some casty stuff since he has no other protection except slightly better stats.

I think Krell is a decent purchase by himself. ASL sux and 3 attacks only, but he's tough, has KB and D3 wounds and can take out magic weapons which means some characters will be afraid to challenge him even if they can win for fear of breaking their swords of coolness. The HKB thing with Heinrich doesn't matter much since it would really only apply to a handful of models in the game (DP/GD/Ogres/etc).

Personally I think kremmler is worth it if he is next to a mortis engine in a list built to be magic heavy.
Loremaster, +6 to cast and +5 to dispell just wins the magic phase.

+1 to dispel is of fairly minor consequence.

In standard fantasy he is mediocre especially since 2 level 4s are comparable in cost.

He is fantastic in storm of magic though since he is very hard to hurt and can run away very easily.

I have nothing to add here but to say that every time I pass by this topic I always read it as 'heinrich himmler', and wonder why that's a topic in Fantasy.

I myself like him, ethereal necromancer can be quite fun, unless you are playing demons. Still, to expensive. Great for fun/fluff lists tho.

I saw Heinrich miscast on the first turn of a 6000 point per side game. He died. His army crumbled soon thereafter.
