Tried a few searches and didn't come up with anything that seemed to be the outright answer I was looking for.

While at my local shop looking at supplies, another player mentioned that she used Baking Soda and PVA Glue as a 'cheaper' snow flock than that offered by Citadel. As I would rather buy more units for my Eldar army than buy GALLONS of flock this appeals to me. However I am wondering what else Dakkaizens might use?

DFW area Texas - Rarely

Sand, and paint it white.

Hit with off white wash, then drybrush bright white.

For an off white wash, either use an off white paint, or a very light blue wash, or a very light grey wash.

The paint dungeon, Arizona

If you're ever near a paint store, or even a Lowes/Home depot, look in the paint section for texture additive.

Its basically foam or plastic powder that added to house paint to give it a rougher texture. I bought it years ago to cover my game tables with brown paint and not add weight.

Point being- the stuff comes in different coarseness, its cheap, and its WHITE.

The stuff I bought was in a box, the size of a half gallon milk carton and cost 5 or 6$( granted- this was back in like 2002). Half of it got mixed into a gallon of brown paint for game tables. The rest sat on a shelf for like 10 years.

Until I was doing some cleaning and found it- and was like 'This is SNOW!!!'

So, with that stuff, and the options davethepak listed, your noncommercial snow options should keep your frosty and away from the expensive(letsscrewthegamer!!) stuff ^_^
