G'day DakkaDakka,
Just wanted to share some experiments and subsequent lessons that we learnt while using weathering pigments.
Here's the results of my first attempt of using pigments this morning :
I stippled on each layer of powder and just lightly dabbed on the Isopropanol as to not totally break down the larger chunks too much.
It took a couple of goes and layers as well as almost restarting totally as the rattle can matt varnish spray I used turned some of the pigments totally white! I salvaged it by a few sprays of alcohol all over the base and applying a few more layers of pigment over the 'damaged' areas.
In the end, I skipped the spray and painted on a couple of layers of Velajio Matt varnish.
Any suggestions, tips or pitfalls you've come across are welcome. I'm pretty happy with this attempt although it is a little heavy.
