Looking to make my dark angel space marines (mostly dark vengeance marines & after alot of scraping to be workable) a custom chapter, one that could easily swap between dark angels & C:SM .... I won't be swapping any time soon (I really like how the DA codex is working so far - but I see serious problems down the road) and I figure after the 10 yr wait on the last dark angels codex it wouldn't hurt to be able to swap to C:SM at some point.

This is the color scheme I came up with

Tactical Marine:
Spoiler:

Terminator:
Spoiler:

Since I already primed them the equivalent of DA green I wanted to keep the scheme and after painting some deathwing models I like the bone armor.

Just wanted to check and make sure this color scheme wasn't already in use as a cannon space marine chapter.

Thanks

Nope.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Isn't it similar to the aurora chapter (ultramarine successors)?

it does look very DA ... but almost everything mech wise I have has angel icons spammed, so i think it could fit decently in a C:SM build

na aurora's are bright green with black trim

That looks a lot like the Sons of Medusa. They participated in the Badab War, covered in Imperial Armor 9 and 10. You can find out more about them here.

well the sons green is more like salamanders than dark angels right? and the bone instead of white should contrast differently on a darker green armor scheme.

Anyone else able to think of any other chapters (other than sons that are a little similar) that are close in color scheme? ... don't want to be the guy who says "yeah here is my dark angels successor chapter" (or if down the road I swap to C:SM) .... well due to the way you painted them they are really _________________.

Just to throw out there, you guys think it would matter that much if I kept the DA chapter symbol on the shoulder pads .... going with a winged / angel icon bits throughout the army and it fits, not sure symbol wise though on keeping the DA shoulders or filing them off.

They also look a bit like a reverse color scheme of the Mentors chapter.

You could always call them a Mentors successor chapter.

Looks A OK to me, would work great as a DA successor. There are allot of chapters that have very similar schemes to eachother, with 1000 chapters theres bound to be some clashes.

Cool, going to end up keeping the DA shoulder symbol and paint it bone like the armor bits and to make the other shoulder pad .... shouldn't clash too much with contrast and all my vehicles have tons of angel icons and their chapter symbol can just be "oddly" similar.

I'll try to get a squad or two painted up soon and post pics, also had a little bit of free time after work so wrote up fluff for the chapter .... fluff should be up in about a week or so, pics soon after.
