Ok. If you get first turn, deploy them right on the line. Assuming your opponent doesn't steal the initiative, you scout up 12" towards an enemy vehicle you want to hit. On your movement phase, move up 12" closer to that target. During the shooting phase, you fire your twin-linked rokkits at the vehicle in question. You have moved 24" and can aim another 24". You can shoot pretty much any vehicle you want on turn one with S8 hits. I've found running 2 units of 3-4 deffkoptas takes out those heavy tanks early in the game. Am I missing something as to why ork players don't really use them?

Yeah. Depending on the mission, I suppose. I really think utilizing their scout special rule makes them shine. Also, if they ever get stuck in close combat, they have a chance to fly away. Sometimes I use the buzzsaws--and big bombs, but lately I've just used the rokkits and kept them at a distance harassing enemy vehicles. Fun stuff! Even though we have the oldest codex in the game (as of this writing) orks are a fun and challenging army to play!

I have found them pretty much useless, AP3 means they'll likely take a hull point off a heavy tank, if that. They are expensive too, a Dakkajet might not be the best plane in the game but at least it really has a good amount of firepower.

why is this in army lists? probally should be in tatics.....

I've had some success outflanking them with Big Shootas. Five come on, often with a Biker character for bosspole + good leadership + next turn rapetastic assault, and *shred* light infantry or rear armour 10.

Becuse dakkajets are way better!
Lootas are all you need for anti tank!
Dakkajets melt men they are the best flyer for anti infantry!
