Subject: Chariots and the Grimoire of True Names

Hey all, I have a question concerning the use of the Grimoire of True Names by a rider embarked on a Chariot.
Now as it's not a shooting attack there's no permission to target an enemy model with the "Daemon" special rule as line of sight cannot be drawn.
However my main question is if the rider has permission to use the Grimoire on the chariot he is riding on.
So for instance, can a Herald of Khorne, embarked on a Blood Throne of Khorne, use the Grimoire on the Blood Throne to possible give it a +2 to it's save?

By the 1000 whispers of Slaanesh we call to them,
By the 12 plagues of Nurgle we fell their enemies,
And by the mighty axe of Khorne we cut open the world for them!

The model can see itself, it's squad and the transport (unless it is open-topped or has firepoints).
If the Grimoire would affect the chariot when the rider is not embarked then yes, it would affect it if the model is embarked.

Interesting use of the Grimoire, as it cannot increase the user's Invul save....but the Chariot itself is not the rider/user of the Grimoire in this case! Very clever, makes me want to make a Blood Throne now. And if you get a 3+ armor save as a Greater Reward, don't forget the Chariot increases the rider's armor by +2 also, so he'll have at least a 4+ armor save (as Khorne Heralds have a 6+ don't they?). Give him Locus and then you can grant Hatred or Rage or Adamantium Will to all Khorne units within 6" of the Chariot too!
Cool stuff, now if they would just either give the Exalted Flamer Relentless or make those shooty weapons as assault weapons, we'd see some Chariot action all over the place.

Relentless or Assault won't fix the Burning Chariot, as then it can only move 6" and fire one weapon. The only way to fix the BC is to move the weapons off of the passenger and back onto the vehicle itself. In all honesty, one could interpret the current entry as just that, meaning the vehicle only has those weapons when the Exalted Flamer is riding, losing those weapons when the Herald is riding. Right now, that's how my group plays it.

Hmm, thinking about it endurance on the exalted flamer dude should fix it, as then it gives him relentless and able to move and fire with heavy weapon without snap shooting and the heavy flamer template (but again only one weapon).
To get a 2++ you need to also get forewarning which means either Lord of Change or Heralds of Tzeentch, but I dont see a reason why you cannot cast grimoire on the chariot.

That would help only if the chariot moves ≤6".

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
