Captian - Bike, Auspex, powerfist, eternal sheild, artificer armor
2x Ironclad - dual heavy flamers - chainfist - droppod
2x Bike Troop (10) Grav x2 MM attackbike
Scouts (6) - camo cloak/sniper
2x Stormtalon - Assault cannon - skyhammer
2x Predator Autocannon/las sponsons
Thunderfury Cannon
Pretty straight forward (and lower model count for transport goodness). Ironclads pod in and try to roast something in cover, take fire... if they live its a bonus for me as I have some av13 infantry frying tank eating dreads.
Bike troops do what bike troops do with the now 'classic' IH captain setup. Stormtalons provide extra anti-tank as well as help contest the skies and chase flying MCs. Predator castle up with the thunder fury cannon and scouts hopefully poping transports.

I prefer Thunder hammer on that Captain as you want him fighting stuff that won't get ID from S8. Also with no command squad I don't get why you haven't just gone all out and got a CM?
I would prefer to see a melta on each Ironclad.
Bikes are fine, not sure attack bike is necessary.
Scouts don't seem necessary. TFC doesn't seem to fit speed of the list. I wonder if 2 Vindicators would better fit than your HS as they roll forward with the rest of your army.

- The Thunderhammer is definitely something that can be upgraded to, when fighting IC's the concussive aspect can be useful.
- I have ran melta ironclads before, in my local meta I see more tau/eldar etc things that hide in cover. So the twin heavy flamer approach is primarily a *this is who I face more often* thing.
- I like the ability to combatsquad units, the bike was needed for that but they are kinda hit/miss being the only melta in the unit.
- TFC fits bike list a little better then vindicators imo. Str10 large blast templates seem to have a bad habit of scattering towards my bikes which are also closing ranks, the TFC can put down ignore cover shots at extream range for tau pathfinders etc.
Also the auto-las preds can hide in cover by the techmarine with the cannon for emergency repairs if need be.
- The scouts? Just another troop I was hoping to hide by the TFC and preds... there could be other options, like scrapping together more points for a 5man bike squad or tact squad with a pod.

i think that the captain would benifit gaving an extra wound and a vindicator shot (and by this i mean orbital bombardemt) by being upgraded to chaptermaster.

I wont argue with that, IH IWND makes that a sizable investment.
Honourguard on bikes? A waste? Can they take bikes? Automatically Appended Next Post: I can remove one attack bike and make him a chapter master... that may be a good trade off.

No they can't take bikes or special weapons they can upgrade their power weapons to relic blades and that's it as far as unit wide options go.

I kind of 2nd the opinion that vindicators would be better than the auto/las predators. With the melta from your bikes and the chainfist on your ironclads I think you can open up armor (not that you see a whole lot of it anyway. With careful placing you shouldn't have any problem with scatting back on you as bikes should never be closer than 17" to an enemy unit and again you can pretty accurately place the dreads with the drop pod rules and 6" disembark.
The only other tweak I would have would be to try and get a 3rd pod into the lst so that both the dreads drop turn 1. Mybe change the scouts to a tac squad with a pod.

Or an assault squad with 2 flamers in DP for just 95 points! He says his meta is infantry heavy.
