Please help my son build a fun Space Marine army. There are no fliers in our meta. We do not wish to spam units. We wish to be very competitive and have fun learning about tactics.
This need not be an Ultramarines army, it's just that I thought Tiggy would work well with the units we liked. We came up with the following list in an attempt to be able to counter all the threats we might come across (again, no fliers to worry about).
Tiggy 165 (with Sternguard)
10-man tactical squad, plasma cannon, plasma gun, rhino + storm bolter 140. obligatory - models purchased (but special & hvy weapons up for change).

5-man scout squad, 4 sniper rifles, missile launcher, camo cloaks 84. obligatory - models purchased.
Bike Squad, 2 grav guns 93. obligatory - models purchased.

Total 1492.
Synergies: LotD and SV (with Tiggy) drop 1st turn, landspeeder in from reserves with Tiggy reserve reroll. Tiggy gives Storm of Fire to LotD, who reroll scatter to get close to enemy vehicle. LotD ignore cover with melta weapons to open up a transport, which the SVs then hammer (no combis on these chaps as they become too expensive imho). Both LotD (with Storm of Fire) and the SV (from Tiggy's Prescience) get rerolls to hit. Techmarine Gunner of TFC gives Scouts bolstered cover. Not sure what impact the UM Chapter Tactics could have.
Is this ok? Can you think of anyway of making it better given the considerations in the introduction? Thank you.
