Hello! I'm new to the 40k Universe and Dakka. I've done copious amounts of studying fluff, codices, general game rules, and of course some Dakka. Other than painting and playing some lonely skirmishes with Dark Vengeance I'm a serious noob!

Anyway, I am starting a 500 point IG force and was hoping for a few loadout tips.

CCS
Commander bolt pistol ccw
2x GL vets.
1x Sniper vet
Vox

Guardsman Marbo

Veteran Squad
Sarge power fist
Shotgun Vets
3x melta

Veteran squad
Sarge (???)
Las Vets
3x plasma

Chimera (probably loaded with the melta/shotgun vets, and will question that loadout more in future posts.)

Good day and welcome to Dakka. Have a browse, and look around at all the forums. For this kind of thing in the future take a look at the army lists, and tactics forums.

A lot of the CCS upgrades aren't great. Special weapons should be plasma or melta in general, lascannon and autocannon are decent. The standard is a good choice to help with morale. The commander should be giving his orders each turn where possible.

Don't put a power fist on the vets, they are not great in combat, and it will not save them against decent CC troops. Else it seems like a good little list, and Marbo is awesome.
