Ok, so the title sort of says it all. I'm shelving my beloved necrons and their wonderful flying machines for a bunch of guys in suits Here's the list I've built - trying not to spam too much and also trying to maintain a well rounded list (I think anyway). So based on what you see below I'd like to get some suggestions from the Interweb as to what I should do in dealing with a buddy of mine who will be spamming the heck out of venoms (and a handful of Ravagers). What kind of tricks can I pull to negate/nerf night shields, etc? Thanx!

Venom spam is hell for broadside teams.

Upshot is, you can kill everything easy. Downside is, now way you can kill enough, soon enough to avoid eating venom spam in your broadsides.

Id go with target locks in the broadsides, getting to split fire is worth much much more against venoms. You can also boost with the skyray should you need to.

Likewise, get rid of the shapers. They're very overcosted for what they do. Similarly, if you need them to be LD resistant, you can keep em near the etherial. Otherwise, youre spending allot of points to boost a unit that's only big enough to be on suicide duty.

As far as 'tricks' you want to hide out of LOS so that you can pull him forward. Venoms aren't slouches with range, You need to draw them in to kill them. Being out of LOS as much as possible will force him to approach, and shield you from 24 ish poison shots per venom.

ooooo....yeah target lock Didn't think of that. So if I replace EWO on one of the broadsides two of the broadsides can shoot as a unit at one target while the single broadside can shoot at a separate target? That makes a lot of sense. Not a big fan of the shaper? LD7 just scares me. I'm so used to LD10 on the crons. My plan, as is most people I've seen, is to put them in reserve and outflank them hoping by that time enough of the enemy units are gone that the kroot would have a chance. Still, all you have to do is look at them cross-eyed and they'd start dying in droves...but you are right - that's a lot of points to sink into increasing LD.

If LD7 scares you, bring more Kroot. The best way I've been able to keep them on the board is just keeping them in cover and running at least 20 and one kroot hound. That way they have to kill off 6 before a leadership check is forced.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Naman, You want two locks and one EWO at best against venoms. This way you can reliably put five down a turn.

Also, if your going to outflank them, chances are they will regroup well before you reach the edge. Usually they're dead before that happens though
