so i just got the new codex and i prepared my first list for an upcoming tournament with 1850 pts..

here we go!

HQ

1 space marine captain with relic blade and artificier armor 135 pts

1 libranian with terminator armor 90 pts (generating from biomancy ?)

TROOPS

10 tactical marines 1 combi weapon 1 flamer 1 las canon 1 auspex 175 pts

10 tactical marines 1 combi weapon 1 graviton gun 1 las canon 185 pts

ELITES

6 sternguard 5 combi wepons 1 heavy flamer 202 pts (not so sure about that choice)

5 terminators with cyclone missile launcher 225 pts

5 assault terminators (3 stormshields with thunderhammers) 215 pts on a land raider crusader with multy melta 260 pts

1 ironcald dreadnought with heavy flamer and 2 hunter killer missiles 165 pts on a frop pod 35 pts could be replaced by a deadnought with heavy flamer 110 pts

HEAVY SUPPORT

5 deavastators with 4 missile launchers (3x skyfire) 160 pts

what a re your opinions guys?? shall i change anything?? with elite choise to leave out?

What kind of armies are you likely to fight in your area?

yes i have to choose 3 of the 4 elites i listed... i have no idea what armier ther will be it kinda big tour.

i am sure there will be IG DE Eldar and nids and GK and orks!!

If you're running IF keep the stern guard, they still get to reroll 1's with their special ammo, which is what makes them pretty nice in the first place. Lose the Dread and give the DP to the stern guard (use conservatively). With those points get another scoring unit.

I'm guessing the captain goes with the assault termies? That's what I would do at least and instead use telepathy for prescience on the the shooty termies (or lose the termie armor and stick him with the Devs). Biomancy seems a iffy, most only apply to the pysker and thunder hammers don't get the int buff off of endurance. And a libby in CC isn't a guarantee. If you lose the termie armor you could squeeze in Shield Eternal for the captain maybe.

Shooting > Assault

I don't believe Chapter tactics apply to their special ammo. Could be wrong though, don't have the book in front of me.

But I agree with Jimmy, Shooting > Assault. So I would drop the termies and pick up other things. TFC's are really strong for their price. More shooting and you are good.

Well shoot, I loaned my codex to a co-worker... from what I remember it just said any bolter, didn't mention shot profile.

im perty sure that the tac marine saeagent cant take auespex...and those sternagurd need d pod if ur gonna run them.

yes tactical take the auspex not the sarge..

and also yeah the sternguard will go in the pod instead of the dread..

but then again they have a 36 range round shot..so maybe i could field them on foot... just thoughts

Honestly id give a pod to your dread and a rhino to your SG, then trade over to IH tactics, pump the SG to 9 and keep the assault termies for your counter assault( if you want you can change them to a assault squad in a LRC cheaper and more wounds.

how many assult marines and with waht loadout will you recomend as equivelant to 5 assault terminatos? (3 hammers 2 claws)

If you went that route, I'd use Vanguard maxed to 10, give at least 3 Shields and and hammers and claws on the others and a relic on the V.Sgt. The fast attack choice version is very limited on upgrades, and they get less attacks.

i woudnt use sterngaurd to stay back if your giving them combi weaopns. if you want to let them stay back, maybe but that really expensive. if ur using there combis, the nthe yneed a pod.

If you can afford it get a ADL with quad. should work great with a tank hunter dev sergeant.
