Lol, a Serpent Spam player complaining about another army.

Anyway, Tau rely on being able to strip the cover off of your Serpents. You have little to Fear T1, so nuke their Pathfinders/Marker Drones/Skyrays at first opportunity, without the ability to ignore your 4+ Cover save they will struggle to bring those serpents down. If they go first they will bounce off your serpent shield. You outrange their Broadsides and Buff Commander, so as long as you are 37" away, you don't have to worry about them ignoring your cover.

The Wraithknight, he is simply extremely tough and takes so much Tau Shooting to bring down. He scares everything they've got short of Kroot. Aim him at their Riptides or Broadsides/Buffmander.

hey serpent spam isnt unbeatable

yes i really wnat to fit a wraithknight in my list, as hes taking lots o lots o misssiles. that are only S6 why i lost is beacuse 3/4 of his army had 2+ armour with 3+ wounds. myt serpent sheilds just coudnt bring em down.

thinking instead of wraithknight, i wouldd take 2 wraithlords. they arent as good, but should still draw some fire power away from my serpents twaord them.

and also hes running farsight enclave, so literally no fire warriors. also, just to warn you, he only has 2 market lights, on his skyray. which is an easy kill. so he didnt ignroe my cover, and he still beta me. its because of all of those missile suits as troops, and his 2 riptides, one an indepent character.

He is running a basic O'VesaStar list most likely. Tough nut to crack and the Wraithknight is the best tool for the job. S7 Missile just won't reliably bring them down.

And two Wraithlords are nowhere near as effective as a single Wraithknight. Being a Jump MC means the Wraithknight is assaulting something T2 if he needs to, and a Riptide or O'VesaStar is such a prime target its hard to pass up. Assault in, very good odds of winning Combat, though O'Vesa with a 3++ and FNP can be an issue. Win combat, 2/3 chance of Sweeping.

A true O'Vesa Star has the allied Buffmander with Hit and Run.

Consider a skyshield, buffmander removes cover saves but not the 4++ for the skyshield.

Neither is markerlight spam, and serpent spam is one of the things that does it easily.

jumpsuits really get a load of their value from their mobility, such as their ability to move shoot move. Shut that down and you have a huge advantage. Suits are bloody annoying with t4 w2 Sv 2+or 3+. So simply deal with both at the same time. 5 man fire dragons out of the serpent will generally shut down a squad of expensive jumpsuits by instant deathing and armour penetrating them with the same shot.

I think a double wraithknight build would be great in this situation to tie up the ovesa star
