I'm not sure if this is the right location, I am interested in finding a good rules set that I could use empire free company GW models for. Ideally Im looking for:

-A game that would use 5-20 models a side in a skirmish style game
-that would cover a variety of the weapons represented in the Empire Free company box
-would be easy to teach a few people to play, so we could have some pickup games at the lgs.

any ideas or info would be great, otherwise I'm going to be stuck brainstorming my own rules.

Or possibly Song of Blades and Heroes, which has very simple to learn rules.

This really isn't the right section for this though, I'm afraid. Specialist & Unsupported or Misc. Miniature Games would be more appropriate.

"Do you have a map of the cat?" - Richard Feynman

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

The empire free company box was built for mordheim. That's why it has so many options, and daggers.....because that's fething pointless elsewhere.

Mordheim is what you are after.

However, personally I'll advise you to check out Empire of the Dead for a 28mm Skirmish game. Cheap as chips to get a gang together (I'm sure your state troops would make a good gang) and it's all in a lovely VSF-Gothic Horrom-Steampunk-Gaslight setting.
