Edited my original list somewhat, would like to see what the thoughts are now. Thanks again!

Hey all, I'm finally to the point where I'm buying and painting the models for my new Eldar army. That being said my medium term goal (short being 1000, long 2k) is a solid 1500 list. I'm not looking to take this to tournaments or be any sort of power-gamer, but I would like to win more than I lose playing something a bit more unconventional. I'm looking for any feedback or criticisms, especially any tweaks that would potentially optimize the list.

I dropped the lords for a knight, got an extra hawks squad and wraithblade by dropping eldar down to a farseer, does it look better now?

Since you are using the Iyanden Supplement, be sure to grab the primaris power to give your blades and lords battle focus! This is critical to getting up the board and allowing your lords to shoot and run. It also grants furious charge, and S8 wraithblades and S10 lords are quite nasty. Another power you want to try to get is protect for 2+ armor, or renewer to heal your lords and psykers(this will get really annoying for your opponent as your wraithlords don't die and your psykers don't either). Otherwise, look into telepathy to get invisibility, maybe hallucination or puppet master. Otherwise, psychic shriek is quite good.Since you won't have conceal, the shields are important, and a 4++ negates most of the nasty stuff.

I am not totally sure you need the guardian helm, but it does give you the ability to feed wraithblades to nasty challenge enemies if need be. If you swap eldrad for a normal seer, put the helm on him. I would take the wraithforge stone, however, for even more healing of your lords.

Eldrad is OK for the warlord trait and 4 powers, but a normal farseer would probably be a better take, allowing you to get more killing power. Your paying double for one more chance to get fortune, and stealth once per game....not really worth it. A farseer saves you points to invest elsewhere, and the helm here makes your warlord safer. Plus, the Iyanden warlord traits are a bit better than the normal eldar ones. Not much in your army needs guide with spirit marks, so farseer support is weaker than spiritseer support.

To round out your list, take a 10th wraithblade. Go big or go home with your deathstar. Consider changing one squad of rangers to 3 jetbikes for mobile scoring and to save points. You could try to shoe in a wave serpent with some guys inside, but I would just go more jetbikes/rangers. Or go totally postal and try and get a full shadow council with 5 spiritseers! Just watch your majority T value. once you hit 3, the unit is dead. More hawks is also nice as they provide the crowd control Iyanden lists lack

Should be a fun list to play!

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I'm with Sterling. Eldrad is a points sink, take a vanilla seer and the forge for some added support to your wraith lords
3 spirit seers is interesting, not sure they'll be uber efficient tbh, I'd also be inclined to run them with D-Scythes just for giggles as they would then become effectively unchargable.

May be drop a spirit seer and throw in a warlock that way you'd get a 5+ even if you changed the weapons?

Other than that would love to know how you get on with it

run all with d scythes? i think they would be better with the axes and sheilds. that invul really helps.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad y'all didn't think it was a total fail list.

I had Eldrad for the better chance at fortune, since thats really what's going to keep the wraiths alive. But you're right if I drop him I can take a tenth wraith blade, the stone, and 2 more hawks. Does that seem like a good swap? Thanks again.
