How would you improve upon this list to make it more competitive while keeping the Mono-Nurgle theme the same?

What is typhus doing? I get you are going to sit your zombies in the backfield and camp and objective(which is the best stratgey for them) but what is typhus doing? If he is going to sit with the zombies then hes a waste, if he is going to run with the plaguebearers then why 2 Heralds? I would drop a herald, stick typhus with a unit of plaguebearers and a herald in the other. Then use the free points to add more plague drones.

I have two heralds so both squads of Plaguebearers have Feel No Pain.

So you have a unit of plaguebearers with a herald and typhus? seems a bit like overkill that could be used to put points elsewhere.

So what would you suggest? Removing a herald and losing feel no pain? Or removing Typhus and dropping all those Zombies to Cultists?

Cultists with an adl with a gun and a basic chaos lord(maybe mon black mace on a bike? have him challange characters) vs typhus

I would also drop the maulerfiend. Not very competitive. I think more plague drones will do more for you then the maulerfiend

I could drop the Cultists and the Mauler Fiend and the Hell Blade and take a Heldrake, 10 CSM with the Mark of Nurgle, and 2 more plague drones, and upgrade the Defense Line to a Quad Gun.

what is the points total??? For camping an objective with an ADL I would go with cultists over CSM anyday of the week. More bodies is better for the ADL

Better Ballistic Skill, higher Toughness, better save. I'm not sure that's necessarily true.

Behind the adl they have a 4+ cover. Bodies will keep that unit alive. If you are set on having them be csm then I would include a heavy weapon at least. Also if you are using the quad cannon remember it is twin linked so shooting at ha 3 isn't that bad sure va 4 is better but 3 is good enough for me.

If you went with a unit of unmarked cultists you would save yourself 25 points vs your squad of csm and you would have 35 models. For 10 points more you could go with a unit of 30 cultists with Mon. In the competitive world I just see this lasting longer. The csm are not a bad choice but I think there is better.

Honestly, I would drop the chaos allies and go pure daemnos ... add in 1-2 more squads of plaguebears or drones would be more beneficial than a chaoschicken + an adl or another kitted out daemon dp (chaos dp's shouldnt be too bad vs the incoming grav spam - 1 flier these days isn't going to be on the board very long & an adl isn't much of a solid anti-flier option)

Just to throw out there ... with your allies instead of taking a nurgle bike lord you could try to fit a chaos daemon prince in for the hq choice (your decked out lord is the same prince as an un-upgraded dp if you don't go full daemons.
