Going to games day for the first time. Does anyone have advice for a games day noob?

Go with friends, my first GD was great as I walked around and discussed with friends about the event but on my second GD I went on my own and it wasn't really much fun at all..

Anyway have fun, its a fun event to go to

Take a camera, take your time, have fun.

Also comfortable shoes are a must.

Also if you want some of the highly limited stuff make a move to the shopping hall first.

Take part in the events. Yes looking around and seeing all the cool new stuff is great. Yes limited edition items are awesome. BUT go and have fun, play some games, do some of the goofy fun stuff like speed painting, ect. That is fun for me anyway and I found I had a great time when I was doing something rather then just walking around looking at things.

Buy some of the new-fangled pheonix termies to make into DWKs.

Buy as many of the new FW releases that aren't available outside of GD yet, put them up on ebay and make a nice profit. It's probably the best thing you'll get out of going.

Forget about speed painting or demo games that's all gone now as most of the stores are now one man stores they have to sell sell sell! So you can look at golden demon entries, buy stuff and look at the tyranid stuff a week before it comes out. If you are polite and actually have a conversation with people you may be able to get a few hints about unreleased stuff so have fun but it won't be the same this year as previous years.
