So I have a league coming up, and I can't decide which of these armies to play.
List 1
Necron Overlord: warscythe; mindshackle scarabs; sempiternal weave; resurrection orb.
• 5 Crypteks: 5× Harbinger of Destruction (solar pulse).

15 Necron Warriors
• Ghost Ark

8 Necron Immortals
Necron Monolith
Necron Monolith
1,851 points (I'll get rid of that extra point somehow.)
List 2
Commander Farsight
• 7 Crisis Shas'vre: 3 with plasma, 2 with fusion, 1 support suit.
8× Gun Drone; .
Commander Shadowsun
XV104 Riptide: ion accelerator; stimulant injector.

XV104 Riptide: heavy burst cannon, stim injector.
10 Kroot
10 Kroot
8 Marker Drones

1,848 points
Unfortunately, monetary restrictions prevent me from changing the armies themselves, I can only choose between them.

The key to strategy is not to choose a path to victory, but to choose so that all paths lead to a victory.
War is beautiful because it establishes man’s dominion over the subjugated machinery by means of gas masks, terrifying megaphones, flame throwers, and small tanks. War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.

I have very limited knowledge of Crons, but i've gathered the Monolith is not nearly as good as it used to be. With that, I'd go with list #2.
As for list #2, I highly recommend making this change:
-Trade the stimulant injector for early warning override and the skyfire upgrade.
That should be an equal number of points so you don't need to worry about models or any other changes. The stimulant injector is just a ton of points and not really worth it. Early warning override is fantastic for the points too.
If someone has a 'dex and can check the points that'd be much appreciated.

Sadly your Necrons are more competitive. Since i dont own the codex, ive only played against it I assume your list is a good one. I have playied only against completly different list and never played against the solar pulse. In any event you have 3 troops that can come back to life and 2 large ones are in transports giving them high resilliance. Monoliths get a bad rap IMO they are still hard to crack, and in the event you get a Big guns never tire style scenrio well they'll come in handy.
If I'm correct (I dont own the Farsight Codex) is that Crisis Team a retinue or a troop choice? if a retinue you only have 2 troops and they are a very low resiliance unit. In objective based games you'll be playing for a draw against experienced players, Assuming your riptides do what you purchased them for. I have 3 Tau player in my area and I tend to ingnore the riptides untill I have no other choice. I'll even shoot at targets behind it if I have to. My priorty targets in your list will be kroot and marker drones. What happens if you get a big guns never tire scenerio you still have only 2 scoring units. If the Crisis team is a troop then taht is a little better, still not great.

I want to say list 1 is more competitive only because it reminds me of oldcrons and because it has sustainable troops.
List 2 will have to play the secondary and or table game as two units of kroot will generally melt pretty quickly.
Also no way to switch for pathfinders?
marker drones by them selves are kinda expensive and lack luster for a bunch of bs 2s.

The farsight retinue is a hq, not a troop choice. I totally realize the lack of troops is the weakness of the list, which is the main reason I hesitate to play it. I tihnk the tau list does have a lot more killing power though. The point of the list would be to play for denial and secondary. Riptides make great denial units.
I actually had pathfinders in the list until a month ago. I found what would happen is my farsight bomb and riptides would get too far ahead of the pathfinders and get out of markerlight range. The marker drones are less good at laying down markers, but at least they're mobile.
