in the past ive done some, molding of sculpts but the resin i have sets within 15 minuets so i cant use a syringe because it will set to fast, so my question i what resin do you use for small pieces and a syringe, i have looked all over the net but cant find any yet i have seen people use other resin, preferably something i can find in australia

Well i have succesfully used 15 min resin with a syringe. You have to work fast. Mix quickly, pull it into the syringe and into the mold. The resin starts to set around the time i normally have the mold filled. So i can only use one mix for one mold. Because of that i always have single pieces base molds at hand to quickly add the remaining resin from the syringe and the mixing bowl. Then pull water into the syringe for ease of cleaning later.
I use syringes for getting the dosage of both resin parts right so that i can directly start to mix once both parts are in the mixing bowl.

Did you use smooth-on resin like i did? Because they also made resin with longer cureing time. I recently ordered a 30 min worktime resin from them. But haven't used it. Sadly i can't remember what the specific resin is called (i'm not at home) but the smooth on website has all their resin specifics listed.

I use barnes.com.au. They are an aussie company and faster to get stuff from than smooth-on or any other imported product.

They supply the FX industry with stuff.
I don't use quick set resins, though as a matter of course.

The fastest one I've used is 4PU (polyurethane resin 2 part) which is around a 30minute one and the slowest takes about 8-9 hours to start going off.

Ambient temperature also plays a part in the cure time (the times listed are for 22*c and relatively low humidity ). If it's 34*c+ then 4PU can start to cure in 10 minutes. This is not a lot of time.
