This awesome piece of relic gear has that Incandescent rule that wounds the wielder once a round of close-combat has ended. Worth taking though I reckon, especially with IH chapter tactics
Would it be reasonable to think that, if/when a FW HH model for the Emperor comes, that he could come with this weapon, but without the Incandescent rule?

Wrong sub forum.
But no, I dopn't think it will come with the burning blade as wargear. I think if/when a model is made it will have a bunch of brand new relics.

I think if/when they finally do an Emperor model for HH he will technically have the Burning Blade, but it will be far more epic than the current one is

Assuming he even comes. I wonder what his stats will be. Also, even if he is T6 with 5 wounds and 2+ armour or whatever, someone -will- kill him with grots.
That will be hilarious.

Unless of course he has a purifier power where he hits everyone in a unit, twice over per unit just by standing next to them, as well as autohitting everything.

Why would the Emperor be wielding a chapter-level piece of wargear? It'd probably look like a butterknife in his hands. Even then, he's from a different rulebook, he wouldn't have wargear from a regular codex.

In the fluff for the weapon it states that they believe it may have been wielded by the emperor during his climactic battle with Horus.
I might have been wielded by big E, but more than likely it WAS his butter knife, or maybe a letter opener

Any stats they give the Emperor probably won't make sense since he's by far even more powerful than a Primarch and was more or less unkillable during the Crusades. If you read all the fluff he's immortal and even if killed he comes back to life.. so seems hard to make stats for that!
I'm also confused on how they'll do Vulkan since he's basically impossible to kill too as per the torture of Vulkan by Curze.

The fluff also states that a single marine could kill thousands of orcs with the basic knife they are given, while at the same time being touted as propaganda where we see entire squads get overrun by mobs of orks.
Fluff is both canon and propaganda!

There is a difference between matt ward fluff and those in the horus heresy novels tho.. since we're talking about the heresy here I figure I'd use those as reference.
Space marines die PRETTY easily in those books, just not the heroes :p

There's not really "Mat Ward fluff" vs. "old fluff" or whatever here, the fluff has always said Marines are worth hundreds of the enemy's number. They just aren't that good for game balance reasons, and I also like that propaganda reasoning. As for Marines dying easily in the Horus Heresy books, well, that's mostly because they're fighting other Marines!

I'm still working my way through the codex and haven't gotten to that point, so that makes sense! But yeah, from a rules perspective I just don't see it happening.

I'm guessing you haven't seen stats for the primarchs. They are nothing like a chapter master.

No, not really. Both seem equally embarrassing exploits of lame Mary Sues.
In any case, replacing Incandescent with Force would suffice. I can't imagine Emperor's sword not being a force weapon.

Do think the fluff said that most of the emprah's power came from his psychic [otherwise an warboss wouldn't have nearly killed him in melee]

Yes, but if he has psychic enhancements that are practically always on, they might just factor them straight into his stats. He probably has something like permanent Iron Arm on him.

I think of the Warboss critically wounding him as the equivalent of really good rolling. several factors came into being and lead to an above average result in damage.
