I've been working on my Marines for a while, so I do actually have all of the models here. I have probably enough for 5 more scouts, about 20 more terminators, and the start of a predator with AC/HB, another Land Speeder, and another 20-30 Marines to shift things around. I won't be facing fliers, but will face Blood Angels, CSM, and Eldar in all likelihood.
HQ:
Librarian - Lvl 2, Jump Pack - Goes with Assault Marines, provides psychic defense and I've never run a Librarian.
Elites:
Terminator Squad - Assault Cannon - Rides in Land Raider Redeemer, I used to run a Heavy Flamer equipped squad with Black Templars, and loved them. so I'm ready to try something similar but different. I actually like being able to shoot something up before assaulting. The LRR seems like a lot of fun, it can slam in and flame foes before the termies jump out and shoot up the enemy a little more.
Troops:
10 Marines - Flamer, Heavy Bolter, Rhino - Primarily anti troop squad for holding objectives
10 Marines - Combi-Melta, Melta, Multi Melta, Rhino - Anti Tank squad that works close to the previous squad when possible
5x Scouts - Heavy Bolter, Hellfire Shells, Bolters, Land Speeder Storm - Support or speed bump as needed. Can also grab objectives as needed
Fast Attack:
Land Speeder - Multi Melta, Heavy Flamer - Primarily anti tank that also works well as a close support for any of the other elements. Also, the weapons are what I have for the RT and second ed Land Speeders I own
Assault Squad - Flamer, Power Fist - Librarian leads this squad. They will usually jump in only after something hits the lines or if I need to ties something up
Heavy Support:
5x Devestators - 2x Las Cannons, 2x Missile Launchers, Razorback w/TL Las Cannon - Mixed Anti Tank, I would love to get the squad to 10 men to combat squad, but don't have the points for it
Total: 1471
So the idea is an army that can move up field fast while still retaining a good mix of firepower to take on most foes. The rules are a bit vague, but if the decision comes down to allow ICs to confer scouting I will put the Librarian in with the terminators for a larger opening scout move. I cannot decide on the last 29 points. Maybe melta bombs and another combi weapon for the tactical squad though I'm not sure.
It is a DIY chapter, and I am not dedicated to Raven Guard, it just sounds like fun to try the potentially agressive scout your transports move. 4 transports scouting up the field to try and dictate terms.
Down the road I want to incorporate a second scout squad with sniper/cloaks/Hb, the afformentioed predator, an AC Dreadnought, and the second Land Speeder at higher points if I can.
