So I've been doing really well with my 1000pts list and am now trying a 1500pts list. I've played one game with it so far with it and did really well against BA. I am looking for advice/input to make it a good all around list. I am by no means a win by all cost and prefer fun games, that's why I play Orks. That said I like to make smart choices and not gimp myself to much. Thanx in advance

Consider mega-nobz instead of nobz. You could get quite a few for the same cost of your current unit.
I swear by the rule of never leaving a heavy support choice unchosen. A few big guns behind the ADL, high toughness big cover save will really anchor it against enemy shooting. They can also fire any weapon you take with the ADL.
Small units of grots are rubbish. Unless you are using them to fire a quad gun then for a few points more you can take 10 shoot boys. The additional range, shots and weapon strength make them superior.

Thanx for the advice. I dont have any Mega Nobz yet, I'm waiting on the new Codex/models to get some, same for Big Gunz... I'm sure (I hope) there will be new models soon!
As for the grots they are just a backfield objective holder. Maybe throw them in the ADL with Lootas and a Quad Gun?
What do you usually fill your heavy support with?

With regards to the squad of Nobz, there are advantages with Meganobz and advantages with 'normal' Nobz.
The painboy is amazing to have in the unit and will save your wounds many times. Granted the Meganobz have a great armour save and each has a klaw. It's your call, I personally wouldn't say one is better than the other.
Better still, go for biker Nobz.
Only other thing is that your trukk and wagon will be targeted very quickly as they are your only transports.

Put reinforced ram instead of red paint job, take 3 sqauds of Shoota Boys of 20 its about 170 points per sqaud with boss poll and power klaw, Thats my typical base. Also whats going in what? 20 sluggas in battlewagon? id make them shootas and give them a little firing platform. I stopped playing orks because Challenges are stupid but owell they are still fun to play with.
Side note, Maybe put Nobs in the Battlewagon with Warboss and dont take the trukk and just foot slog the boys.
Most people will probably disagree with foot slogging and taking transports but i understand if you dont have the models to pull it off, this should work well enough and the battlewagon will distract from your ever closer moving swarm of boys. Weirdboys okay for giggles, but KFF mek is your best friend. Except versus tau and there stupid marker lights.

Good input, thanx! The idea is to give them many equal(ish) targets and make them pick one while the others rush across the board. Trukk with Nobz/ WB and BW with slugga Boyz are a means of transport more than anything else, if he ignors the deathrolla too bad for him
So that gives the opponant a big mob of Shootas, a Trukk-a-Nobz, a BW of sluggas, Kanz, Kopptas and Lootas to pick from. If all goes to plan the others do top speed into CC and wreck face! 6 pronged green death
Well, thats the idea anyways... Since I play Orks and belive it should go down like this does that make it true?

First of all the Nobs are troops thanks to the warboss
I'd also look into dropping the Killakanz for Big Gunz and get more Lootas, otherwise the ADL is not worthed for only 9 lootas
I myself am running 3x 5man squads at 1500 points
as a finishing touch i'd split the deffkoptas in 1man individual squads. if you have a squad of 3, the first time they get shot at they will run back :/
with 1man squads you can split your fire, they are harder to get shot down completely since they are not riding together etc etc

Nobs troops!
Kill 1 pk on the nob squad to get you 5 more BCs or extra pts anywere else as 1eats a tank with the wb.
Or maybe use some of that to give the front few a cybork or kombi burnas
I think the kans are no way worth it. In this ed they just die befor they are useful. Maybe switch them for 1more kopta to each squad of just upgrades or lootas.
I love my warpheads but in this case loss it as they are in my opinion ONLY good with 2+ dakkajets and since ur only running its not a big deal. And not worth it for only 4squads of men that wi be charging.
Just my opinions from testing things!
Edit: switching them all to manz might be a good idea but its all according to pref and if you have the models

On first glance I'd have to say that your list is too watered down. I learned the hard way that the best way to play orks is to spam the fire truck out of them. If you like boyz, use as many boyz as possible, if you like weirdboyz, use lots of dakkajets, if you like battlewagons use as many battlewagons as you can (depending on the points limit you can use up to 8 OF THEM!!!). The reason behind this is that 1 battlewagon is a target, one that in this edition will be blown up, and if that wagon was essential to your anti-armour strategy... well lets just say you're hooped.
So here is my advice for your army:
Take out your weirdboy. Unless he is a warphead he can be detrimental to your list. Use those points to take jasper's advice and upgrade the gretchin to a squad of boyz.
Nob bikers are extremely popular right now because: they're tougher, faster and they kill stuff; however, I'm not sure they would do well at 1500pts because they don't do well unless your opponent misplays or you spam them, and they are a expensive (for both points and money). I personally don't like them either way, but if you do use them, experience in-game will show you where to put them to good use. Manz having a 2+ armour save is pretty awesome, try them out in a friendly game with proxies to get a feel for them.
Lootas... badass. 'Nuff said.
Boyz before toyz. Unless you spam dem toyz and kill lotsa enemies. Now I am not sure if you have the battlewagon yet, but if you don't, try the green tide strategy and throw boyz down the field while giving them some support with lootas. Even when the new codex comes out, boyz will still be useful in ork strategy, so it will be an worthwhile investment.
Deffkoptas. Mehhhhhhh... like bikes I don't care for them, but the outflank rule can force your opponent to play in a different style allowing for more mistakes. Mistakes that you can capitalize on. TL rokkits are also great for killing marines, crisis suits and tank hunting.
Battlewagons with deff rollas are boss. I usually protect them with armour plates and grot riggers as nothing is more annoying than them not being able to move. Also if you need an extra 5pts, shave off one of those big shootas, only one is necessary. Try to spam vehicles more. 1 wagon and/or trukk coming down the field will make your opponent yawn... 3 of each and he will be sweating (I run a big mek with KFF to increase the survival of vehicles, 5+ cover saves work).
Killa Kans are cool when you've got 3 squads of 3 walking down the field, but otherwise not really. Strength 5 weapons are common enough so glancing 1 squad to death is not very hard, now take into account the many weapons that can pen them and you've got yourself walking points sponges that, more often than not, do nothing for you. Good in small points game, anything over 1000pts makes them hard to use.
Take all my advice with a grain of salt. As you said orks are simply fun to play, if you end up wanting to make your list more competitive it's pretty easy.
WAAAAAGGHHH! (cheers)

I tend to fill out heavy support with a unit of cannons, a deff dread (although this sometime is a troop choice) and three killa kans.
I like a few walkers in the mix mainly as I find them to be good guards for lootas and cannons. With power gloves being less common due to challenges then having to penetrate the front armour in combat become more difficult and I can position the walkers to take charges. A bog standard dread can be got for 85pts and be able to dakka and flamer things getting too close. When the terminators (or insert codex equivalent hard troops) arrive then the walkers stike before all the unweildy powerfists and melta bombs.
Three killa cans also gives me a bit of extra (albeit S5) dakka to whittle an enemy down.
I'm thinking cannons are good to hide in the ADL, you can max out with some more grots to keep any ADL weapon firing and they are T7 so when an ignores cover weapon (Heldrakes S6 flamer thing) turns up they have to get past the increased T before you get toasted.
Cannons are expensive to buy £20 each at the moment I think. I've got an old dwarf cannon for one, a lascannon from predator sprue poking through a rhino side door (blast shield) for the second (I've retires another dwarf cannon) and and looking to convert a partical beamer from the necron spyder sprue. Meganobz are ebay only unless you want finecast. I'm getting on with finecast better than most reports.

Bah the Kannon Models are olde..recycled metal models (that used to go for 3 for the same price one is now) to easy to convert from IG heavy weapons or other Sources.
.as to MegaNobz easy (timeconsuming) convert from Cheap AOBR warbosses and some plasticard, or Kromlech , or soon Mantic will have a showing for NOt Meganobz..

Thanx for all the input everybody I will post an updated list considering what you all have said and what I currently have availible. Most every body seemed agaist the Kanz, would a Deffdread be better in this case? I like the idea of walkers, not sure how to efficiently use them. When I do use them they attract alot of attention. In my mind that is good because that free's up something else that is usually more dangerous....

The only reason I can see the mass hate of killa kans is that kannons and lobbas are way under costed. Other then that I think they are INSANLY good for 45 pt dread... SM players pay that same price for a termie......

Killa Kanz..and DeffDreads come into their own if there is enough LOS blocking terrain on the field ..(a City Fight or Craggy Mountains..) I like Kans and dreads a lot But they really do need support they cant be sent on their own ..
Big gunz and Lootas are the only units left that are costed about right for their effect..most ork stuff is way over priced since the codex is showing its age with evrey new codex that comes out.. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh and for Kans the Grotzooka is the best choice ..for dreads I like to put a Big Shoota and a Skorcha on each..

kans are pretty much poop termis. 2hp kans that die before they get there and cant fit into vehicles.
