So after reading the new
Apoc rules this summer, I got it into my foolish head to build an all infantry Ork force. After some careful bargain shopping on eBay I pulled it together. As I said in another thread, I made very liberal use of the Primary Detachment rule in the
BRB - two primary detachments with two Allies means 6
HQ, letting me take two
KFFs and two Painbosses (giving 5+ cover saves to most of the army and 5+
FNP to my biggest 30-boy blobs), plus a Warboss to lead my Nobz and a
SAG for fun. I've only got a unit and a half to paint before I can field it fully... what do you think? Did I waste my money? If nothing else, I'll have a fantastic Green Tide unit for
Apoc. games.
I feel like 135 boyz will be tough to get rid of no matter how many templates my opponent is dropping, especially with 5+/5+ saves for most of my force... plus, bringing that many heavy weapons reduces the number of troops THEY can bring, meaning they'll get overwhelmed with bodies pretty quickly. Mostly I just want to have opponents crapping themselves looking down the barrels of that many shootas
