Wyrd is having a painting competition. I know not everyone collects Wyrd miniatures but I thought it best to post this here for more exposure should anyone be interested.

With the Halloween and Harvest season right around the corner, it is once again time to kick things off with our most popular painting contest, The Rotten Harvest!

Round about the paint pot go. On the palette throw
royal blue and blood red. Thirty-seven Days of Dread;
Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and paint pot bubble.

The contest runs from September 25th through October 31st. Entries can be submitted at any time during the contest. Voting will occur from November 1st - 7th, done anonymously through the Wyrd forums. Also, during voting, anyone may leave comments and critiques, which previous entrants have appreciated. The winners will be announced soon after the voting ends, and Wyrd will send prizes to those winners, along with random prizes that we give away with every contest.

The specific rules for the contest can be found under Contest Rules and Info. Everyone should read the rules, because we want to avoid any misunderstanding of the contest, including the theme and disqualifying criteria.

Contest Categories

Witches and Warlocks Spellcasters of all sorts, from high fantasy, modern day dabbler to the far sci-fi future. If they carry a wand, cast a spell or even have a hint of mysticism to them, this is the category for them.

Not Quite Dead Yet Still stumbling around after all the major organ functions have shut down? Have a beef with the living? This category is for the Undead, or as they like to be called 'Living Impaired'.

Things that go Bump in the Night Creatures, critters, monsters and other things that have a tendency towards anti-social behavior and prowl the night looking for victims. Caution, here be Monsters!

The Trick or the Treat This is our catch-all category as there are some miniatures that are just right for the theme but just don't seem to fall into any other category. Zombie Hunters, pumpkin characters, and certainly several miniatures we never would have even contemplated.

The Harrowing Harvest A diorama with two or more miniatures locked in combat, or something as equally disturbing.

For more details check out our Rotten Website.

Wyrd has a large selection of Victorian horror themed figures and you should check them out and see if there is one that you'd be interested in using either to expand your crew or just as a one-off to show everyone your painting/converting skills. You can see entries in Dakka's own painting challenge held last December if you want a little inspiration. *
* It's an old thread so please don't necro it.

I thought I'd give this thread a bump to remind everyone that there's just a little over a week left for this.

Almost the last day. If you've been working on this, consider this a friendly reminder to get finished up and get your model submitted.

Too bad they can't update the RPG Project.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

1. Off topic.

2. A cheap shot.

3. They are working on it. Give them time; they are a small company.

I don't agree.

1. defiantly on topic, seeing as it gained more then enough cash that it runs part in parcel to HOLLOWEEN. It was already supposed to be out, by the way. Running a painting exhibition, it would be good business sense to discuss an ongoing product in tow to the game.

2. Cheap shot? How do YOU figure?

No discussion on the KS page, so out of the blue they are going to ignore the topic at hand? That's ok, even though they want to run a contest? Only discussion to be had is this.

3. Where did you get the information? It would be nice to have some official update on... the project page.

Seeing as there is SERIOUS MONEY in it, and THIS company was happy enough to take it with no resulting discussion about it. It is not too much to ask for update on whats going on with the minis and book, seeing as they are already on sale.

Points at FRP GAMES for reference.

Anything not related to the painting contest is absolutely off topic, Grot 6, and you've been around Dakka long enough to understand that.

There are existing threads for the RPG if you want to voice your complaints.

About a week late (extension then delays then changes), but the Wyrd painting competition is up, with the galleries here and voting here

Voting is pick the top 3 in each category (plus best base/diorama and best in show, and staff picked best of wyrd), you need to have a username on the forums to vote or post comments on the forum, but can comment in the galleries without one.
