Subject: Iyanden Footdar?

I'm just coming back to 40k after taking off 5th Edition and am building a new Eldar army. I always wanted to do a Iyanden army and with the new plastic Wraith models now seemed a good time.
I'm most interested in a footslogging force to start. Has anyone run a footslogging Wraith list? I was thinking two big units of wraiths, and some Jetbikes, Wraithlords, and a Crimson Hunter. Anyone have any advice on this type of list?

To be honest, the whole idea of a footslogging Iyanden army seems kind of weird considering most of their Eldar are dead.
But seeing as normal Footdar are a right pain in the butt, I can only Imagine that Iyanden can pull it off too, as Wraithlords are evil creatures of pain.

Wraithwall is an Iyanden staple Have you got the Iyanden supplement? You don't need it to run an Iyanden style list, but you can get battle focus + furious charge on your wraiths. It changes the spiritseers to 1-5 per character choice so you can put decent 'warlocks' in your lists. But this means you can have st8 wraithblades with axes on the charge, or move+run + shoot with d-scythes. This helps speed up the tough troops to get them where you need them The crimson hunter is made of paper - I made a counts as nightwing (from FW). 1 less hull point, but cheaper, still with decent guns and a 2+ evade so it's actually more resilient imo. Jetbikes are great, wraithlords are still ok - what's your views on the wraithknight?

wraithwall does some nice things, like the ability to effectively shut down S3-4 based armies. However, when you go to S6+ wraithwall runs into huge problems. While cheaper than last edition in points, i would say you almost have less value than last edition. Last edition Eldrad could fortune 2 10 man wraith units and warlocks could just conceal without a cast. Now you have one (maybe) fortune from eldrad and warlocks needing to cast. For a 3 point cost reduction per wraith, i would say thats a bad trade.
Wraithwall wasnt competitive last edition due to the shooting meta bringing enough high-str weapons to deal with wraithguard and the presence of melee elements that ruin wraithguard's day. 6th hasnt changed that much, except now their are more ways to ignore the cover save WG need to keep them alive long enough to be viable. Helldrakes, tau, AT shooting, and small melee units are still the bane of WG, much like before the eldar codex.
What do we get in the new codex that improves the army? WK help the AT potential at range and can cross the distance, but do they really make the wraithwall list better or just any list better in general? WG can now be troops, but WG lists rarely had a problem with scoring. They normally ended up the game with the WG units tied in melee at much reduced strength and not much of the rest of the army alive, with enemy camping on the objectives.

@Brimstor
Are you planning on playing comp or with friends?
With friends you can take whatever you like.
Comp = moar wave serpents.

I have the Iyanden book, 10 Wraithguard, 1 Wraithlord, and a Farseer/Spiritseer so far. I'm gearing up for my next purchase next week.
I will mostly play against friends and maybe go to a few small local tourneys. I'm not that competative of a player anymore so that is why I am trying to stay away from Serpent spam.

What are your wraithguard armed with?
What are you thinking about buying next?

5 have wraithcannons, 5 are unbuilt.
I was thinking bikes, guardians and maybe more guard. I am also building my own defense line.

I run a footslogging Iyanden list. I take CH for AA and AT tho you might not need it if you're running an Aegis.
WLs get a bad rap but I like mine just fine. I've been running him with a glaive and SL. Cuts 15% off the 2 heavy weapon load out and maximizes the base weapons. SL and TL shuricat when the flamer can't reach or when you want the chance for rending; SL/TL flamer for all else. Gives him some threat while your opponents are still at range but you want to get him I'm close for maximum effectiveness.
With the new grav weapons I think running foot is a good idea. Last thing you'd want is to have your WS insta immobilized and all the WG inside wounded on 3+ no armor. I recommend taking as many spiritseers as possible. Go for Invis if you need cover saves. PS is a great primaris; you can't really have to much of this and you can put those seers in with some wraithaxes and get across the board 4++ with PS making them dangerous out to 18", up to 24"if you get the Iyanden primaris off.
Take D-scythes if you're worried about getting charged; no "small melee" squad is going to tie you up or even get to you with d3 str 4 ap 2 his per model.
Also, I'd recommend diversifying by taking some cheaper troops as well - something to go against those grav guns and lascannons while you hopefully payout your wraith units against heavy bolter equivalents.

I was thinking something like this...
Avatar
2x Spiritseer
10x Wraithblades
10x Wraithguard
10x Guardians w/Scatter Laser x2
3x Bikes x2
2-3 Wraithlord
Some kind of MC CC list to mess around with. Thought it could be fun and different.
Also what do people prefer on their Wraithblades?
