The 'right' air compressor is a bit tricky to say; any will do just fine, aslong as its pumping enough air to run the airbrush; which doesnt need much tbh, and can run for as long as you need it to then your all good. (When they get hot, they need rest time to avoid both damaging the motor and spitting condensation out of your airbrush onto the job).
A tank is really useful, even a small one, it allows the motor to stop now and then, which increases work time considerably.
Noise factor can be important, but doesnt actually make a difference to the airbrush itself.
I imagine (dont quote me hehehe) that the most common compressor used is an AS186, sold by many brands, made in China. They work fine. Little noisy, but not deafeningly so.
