Subject: Simple Tricks and Nonsence...

So I am constantly seeing new tricks in the X-Wing game that make a ship that I was totally worthless work really well, or in new and interesting ways. I'd love to hear some of your favorite tricks, or tricks that took you by suprise.
Was flying my dualing banjos list (2 yt1300) and a friend flew a cluster of tie fighters right in front of Han. He bumped...all the way bact to pretty much where he started, Lando on the other hand jetted right out into nowhereland. Next round he repositioned the Tie/ln into a mob around Han, who then was stuck again...unto death. I just couldn't move without hitting one of those little Tie/ln, was really obnoxious, and for his effort he only lost 3 of his 8! 5 Tie/ln vs Lando in the YT-1300 was not much of a fight. All because the Tie/ln had LOWER piloting skill. I Took that idea and ran it with Lambda Shuttles w/ Pursuit Lasers to pretty nasty effect.
What kind of tricks do you use?

Don't forget that you're allowed to move over and past a ship, you only collide and stop moving if you end your move in contact. So you should have been able to just jump over the TIEs next turn and start moving again.

TIE spam is the worst matchup for the dual YT list. It can handle most anything else, but that'll be a real pain, especially with a skilled player commanding the 8 TIEs.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Unless he was able to make a spread into the area I was trying to move into. Since I was already near enough to the board edge I really couldn't turn into the edge, and he had a loose scattering of Tie's that kept me from any other move. Move back until I was not overlapping his ships and I was pretty well right back to the starting point.

But then he shouldn't have been in contact with your ship with all of his TIEs and you could just shoot the ones that didn't ram you. The YT-1300 has fast enough moves (including 90* turns to get you away from table edges) that your opponent can either block you no matter where you go, or put everyone in contact with your base so you can't shoot. You can't do both for more than one turn.

I think we're on the same page, wrong paragraph...so to speak. He was keeping me from moving, but I was still shooting. Witch was why I was able to KO 3 of his Tie/ln before Han got dusted. But it was the 2 turns it took for Lando to swing around to back Han up while a fair amount of his fleet was at range 1-2 that was the killer.

Ok, I think I misunderstood what you meant then. It sounded like you were saying that the problem was that Han got blocked where he couldn't shoot while your opponent killed Lando, and that's why you killed so few TIEs.
