hello i am new to 40k and i play csm, and i keep hearing people talking about the black legion supplement book and i dont know what it is. i tried to look for it on gamesworkshop website but found nothing. i hear people say it makes it so you can ally csm with csm?,(what does that even mean, is it a different army with different rules.) what is this and where can i find one.

Supplements are additional mini-codexes that add a couple of extra rules and a ton of fluff for each army. They are available on Ipad only at the moment, but they're all getting paper releases at some point in the future.
The talk of allying comes from the fact the supplements count as separate armies, so you can ally with the main codex or vice versa.

It's a kind of sub-codex, with rules variances and perhaps a new piece of wargear or so. You should be able to find it in Black Library Digital, as I don't think a hard-copy has been released yet. As it is technically a different army book, it is possible to ally the Black Legion supplement with C:CSM (allowing for 4 Helldrakes, a reason a some competitive or several WAAC players do it)
EDIT: ninja'd

Actually, Bladeswinga is correct, you can find a non-ipad edition http://www.blacklibrary.com/games-workshop-digital-editions/Black-Legion.html at Black Library.

Yup, it's all GW. Black Library is GW's publishing arm, so to speak, so anything out of there is GW approved.
