I recently got most of a slaughterbrute kit from a friend. It's pretty great. Would be greater if I played fantasy chaos, or fantasy at all. So I decided to maim the $70 kit and rebuild him. Better...faster...stronger.

So far I've stuck a spare defiler arm to one side and put a magma cutter on the other. Gave it hydraulic lifts for its arms, and a new cyber tail to cyber bully people with. Was still pondering what else I could do to wreck it. I had some extra lasher tendrils laying around, could cut out its fleshy tongues and stick a few hentai mecha tentacles in there instead, maybe hollow out one of its eyes and stick an LED in there somewhere.

Thoughts, suggestions, random meme pictures?

Looking good, it looks nice and demonic while still recognisable as a vehicle. In other words, it looks more like a maulerfiend should than the maulerfiend!

Great start, looking forward to seeing it painted up.

I like it a lot. Just needs a few more mechy bits to enhance its engine side, e.g. maybe:
- bionic eye or other sensor bits
- cables sticking out of limbs
- small armour panels (along the lines of those on daemon princes and helbrutes, or perhaps even defiler leg armour)
- exhaust pipe or vents
- anything else in your bits box

About finished with the million dollar bulldog demon.

Cables everywhere, badass cyber eye, all he needs now is a giant gun and tiny feet to go on the cover of an Image comic book.

Gonna pop him off his base and put down a layer of textured styrene plastic with checkered metal flooring on it, then its primer time and he's ready for his paint job. Was thinking of painting him up all brown and mottled green like an alligator snapping turtle, with corroded goldish-bronze cyber bits. And then it's off to the table to get blown up the first turn by an eldar serpent shield!

Always used to think to myself that if I ever did a Maulerfiend conversion that I'd use a Slayghterbrute as the base.
I'm glad to see that it's an effective conversion base as you've most definitely done the model justice.

Are you handy with green stuff at all?
I'd recommend enhancing the bio-mechanic theme by sculpting fleshy details over some of the machine bits as well as in the joints between flesh and metal to better transition from machinery to living organism.

Hope that helps and even if you choose not to go with any GS'ing it still looks good.

Peace

Thanks for the comments.

As far as green stuff, I've yet to mess with the real deal, but I'll be covering any seams, joins, and obvious spots with the liquid green stuff variety. The slaughterbrute kit comes in a ton of pieces so there's joins all over the place that need covering anyway.
With enough layers, and after several coats of paint, it'll look less like wires haphazardly glued everywhere and more like a cyber beast. Hopefully.
